C# :: Best Way To Store And Load Image Into Access Database?

Dec 12, 2014

I have:

An Access database in which the picture right now is saved by its directory, together with other field like title, publisher, developer,..

Visual Studio form in which a load button gets that directory as text

Details button that reads the ID of a selected item (I have a list of games) and displays the corresponding picture by reading the directory

The problem right now is that once someone else opens the program on his/her computer, the directory changes, making the whole thing useless.

Is there a way to get around this problem? The books I've been reading don't really adress this.

Directory is a string in class 'Game'; it's short text in the database

private void buttonFoto_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) {
LoadNewFile();
}
private void LoadNewFile() {
OpenFileDialog ofd = new OpenFileDialog();

[code].....

I'm trying to load a PNG image to use as texture, but when I compile the sdl window closes. I'm sure the error is in the function of generating the png texture, because when i don´t use this function, the sdl window does not close. So debugging using cout i found that the cout above glTexImage2D function, shows in console, but the cout in below of glTexImage2D does not work. Does not reading this image?

C# :: Save Image In Layers And Then Load Layers Separately

Oct 4, 2013

I am programming an application in c# that allows the user to edit images. The user can use a Pen to write on the image, and the user can also use a highlighter (a big semi-transparent Pen) to highlight what they've written. I need the user to be able to erase only the highlighting without erasing the pen drawings.

My solution was to have the user draw on one graphics window when the pen is selected and draw on the other graphics window when the highlighter is selected. I will then enable the eraser on either graphics window depending on what the user wants to erase.

My program will let the user save the image and then load it into the program again for later editing. When I save the image, I have to compress the layers (different graphics windows) into one bitmap. When I load the bitmap back into my application, I lose my layers and cannot erase just the highlighting without also erasing the pen as well.

How can I save an image file with layers, and then recover the layers when my program starts up again?

I am not opposed to saving two images - one with the pen graphics window and the other with the highlighting. If I do that, how can I merge the two images into one layer when I load the images back into my program?

C# :: Access Database Connection And Saving Data

Mar 17, 2014

I want to connect an access database (.mdb) to my Windows Forms application - this I can do and I have no problems viewing my table in server explorer.

Some code example or template that I can use as a base to learn from - I have literally trawled Google and Youtube and cannot find what I am after.

What I want to do is have a basic form, 2 text boxes and a button to save the data to my database.

FirstName and LastName are the 2 boxes.

C# :: Cyclic References In A Database Access Layer

Jan 21, 2015

I'm looking to implement a Database Access Layer for the project I'm working on, it's a mature project and I'm trying to simplify the database access and as far as possible and remove the Database logic from the Business logic.

Bringing in an ORM solution isn't an option at the moment so I'm looking at bringing in DAO objects to break the coupling. The problem I can't get around in my head is how to avoid Cyclic references

We currently have 2 projects

BL contains types such as Customer, Component and Product which need saving to the Database, the Database project can't know about these items or it would create the cyclic dependency.

I tried adding Dao items to the DB project to mirror these items and to also mirror the DB structure but that requires that the BL project knows how to convert between it's own types and the DAO types which is something I'd like to avoid.

I also tried inserting a third intermediate project that would control the conversion and saving, I called it my DAL project and tried adding functions that would take the BL item and perform CRUD operations but again I ran into the cyclic dependency issue.

My ideal solution would be that the BL project would just have to call a function along the lines of "SaveCustomer(Customer inCustomer)" and not have to worry about doing any conversion.

Is there a project structure that would allow for this?

C++ :: Creating Databases And Indexing One Image Per Database - Multithreading Synchronization

Nov 1, 2013

My below code is createing databases(database here is a kd tree) and indexing one image per database. I have two classes LastDatabaseTndexingPolicy and another forwardingDatabaseaccessor.cpp .

I am calling the GetDatabaseToAccess() function from forwardingDatabaseAccessor.cpp class .GetDatabaseToAccess() function is present in LastDatabaseTndexingPolicy class and it returns the database created as a pointer and using that database pointer we call another function which actually indexes the image to the database .

Now my issue is i am not able to have multiple threads act on the following functions as DatabaseAccessor_ptr db which is in the following file is coupled with two functions and however i put locks in the LastDatabaseTndexingPolicy file as below i end up getting synchronization issue ..........

Hence now i am using a single lock in forwardingDatabaseAccessor.cpp and serializing the code,. How can i change my design to parallelize this code .........

In ForwardingDatabaseAccessor.cpp we are calling function from LastDatabaseTndexingPolicy as shown below:-

DatabaseAccessor_ptr db is something which needs to be synchroinized. I tried createing 256 databases with one image each and when i run this code i ended up creating 175 databses and though i was restricting in code with locks that every database has only one image i ended up having two images in single database ..... ideally i had to get only one image per database but i got two images in few of them hence instead of 256 database this code created 175 or so databases.

indexing::IndexReturnValue ForwardDatabaseAccessor::index(cv::Mat image,
const std::string& imageName, features::Camera::Type indexCameraType,
features::Camera::Type recogCameraType) {
DatabaseAccessor_ptr db = this->IndexingPolicy_ptr->GetDBToIndex();

C Sharp :: Access Database Is Copying To Output Directory On Its Own

Oct 4, 2014

I have an extremely annoying problem, I am inserting data into an access database and now i have noticed that it is copying itself to the bin/debug folder on ts own and yet i have set "Copy to Output Directory" property to "Copy never"

But without fail, it is copied! It is making any attempted updates to the database's information invalid since its not updating at all.

This all started when i installed crystal reports and it asked me to make a duplicate of the database in order to utilize data-sets that were created for certain reports.

Why this is happening? I cannot test my application properly at all.

C Sharp :: How To Access Raw Image Data In Resource File

Nov 14, 2012

I have a .png file that my console app reads and puts into a structure that is saved as a file. The png is always the same so I thought I could just add it as a resource image to a resource file so it would be included in my program and not as a separate file. When I did that, the png shows up as a "SystemDrawingBitmap". If I examine this resource in a watch I see "Base" and "Static" members. Expanding those properties does not give me anything useful such as a pointer to the raw png data and its length in bytes.

If worse comes to worse, I can always make a hex dump of the png contents and then put the hex code into a CS file using static initialization.

Surely there is some way I can access the raw data internally and read the bytes into a byte array using C#

C :: Gradebook Program - How To Store And Access Data

Jun 15, 2013

How I would store all the data. Also how would I access it after I store it. Side Note we are not allowed to use structures or objects.

For the purposes of this gradebook you should first provide a menu with the following options

-Add a new course Add a new student to a course Add grades for a student in a course Print a list of all grades for a student in a course Print a list of all students in a course Compute the average for a student in a course Compute the average for a course Store Gradebook (to a disk file) Load Gradebook (from a disk file)
-Each of these menu items should correspond to a function you will write.
-For the basic program each student will be represented by an ID number And each course by a course number
-Grades will be whole numbers only (no fractional part)

As indicated in the menu you will need to store and load using a disk file so that the data is retained.

Here are so limiting values in defining your data structures: Maximum Number of students (total) 100 Max number of courses 25 Max number of courses per student 4 Max number of grades per student per course 10
