Visual C++ :: Application Which Print Existing File On Reception Of Network Event
Sep 10, 2014
I basically want to develop an application which print an existing file on reception of a network event (application will be running on a seven 64 bits PC).
I wonder which application type would be the most suitable (and the simplest) for that (console win32, win32 app, MFC app ...). As this application does not need user intervention (print on network event), I'm not sure that I need a MFC application or a win32 app.
I am using Windows 7 32bit OS and want to detect the CPU power button press event in my console application developing in C language.
I configured the power button setting to "Do Nothing" which is in "Choose what the power button does" options in Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Power Options. So now i want to detect this power button press event and do some processing in my application then i will initate shut down from application itself. Looking for windows API details which will detect the power button press event.
Is there some quick way of resetting the contents of an existing array to 0? Just to be clear, I'm not initializing the array, it already exists, has content and needs to be reset at 0. Is there a faster way than the code below?
#include <iostream> #include<fstream> using namespace std; int main() { string choice, meaning, word, yesOrno; char add[20];
[code]....
i have done my best but i have still problem with searching words from previously saved words from user this code it keeps adding but it won't display when i search for.
Let's say I have an exe-file (for example computer game) and need to forbid to run it until certain date or time during the day. Any 'manipulations' with file are allowed. offer me a simple way of how to encode/decode such a file?
Not much to go wrong here, right? As long as I have the correct permission to write in the folders and the folders exists, this would normally go smooth. But for some reason it only copies the file. The source file still exists, but it has successfully copied the file to the destination folder. No exceptions has been thrown or anything... but the file still exists in the source directory
I then changed the code to the following:
System.IO.File.Copy("Y:TempFile.txt", "Y:Temp2File.txt"); System.IO.File.Delete("Y:TempFile.txt"); Console.WriteLine("See mommy, no Exceptions");
As expected the file copies correctly, but the delete command is completely ignored. The file is not deleted, but the Console.WriteLine command is called
I'm running the application as the logged in user. The user has permission to delete the file. If I try from Windows Explorer, the file is correctly deleted. Unfortunately my application refuses to delete the file and even worse, it will not even throw an Exception.
My user requires that I add function to an already working C server that will send to another host via http post and existing xml file. I have googled and found C# and C++ on how to do this but nothing using C. Where do I start?
I've got some code in C++ that does some basic analysis on price data and I run it from the cmd prompt. One of the functions I had built to read in the data is as follows:
How would one merge this type of code into a Qt GUI? Ideally, I'd like to use something like QFileDialog to open up a folder with my data files, select a file, and then read the file that the user selects. Would the main.cpp look something like this?
int main (int argc, char *argv []) { QApplication prog (argc, argv); QPushButton *load_button = new QPushbutton ("Load File"); QObject:: connect (load_button, SIGNAL (clicked()), &prog, SLOT ( (ReadPricesfromFile function?); load_button-> show (); return prog.exec ();}
Code: private: System::Void GOBUT_Click(System::Object^ sender, System::EventArgs^ e) { int x; x = sender->Location.X; }
Returns error saying Location is not a member of Object^.
I'm trying to create an array of button (user/runtime created buttons) and get different interpretations of the click event depending of wich button is clicked.
For example, if we create buttons[0] I wish to get the 0 or something relevant into the GOBUT_Click event.
I'm having problem using the click event in a web browser control. I have a control called CIEBrowser that implements a Web control. Here a message_map:
I have a dialog with a control using this CFulltextCtrl. I can create and show the html perfectly inside the form. But all links inside this control don't work (scenario 1). If I create a form who have a control of the type CIEBrowser, the EXACTLY same html code works perfectly (scenario 2).
In particular, I need that when I click in one link, execute a method called OnClick, who performs all that I need, just like in scenario 2.
This is my DISPATCH_MAP in the derived class (CFulltextCtrl):
I'm new to programming and i'm trying to do a certain task. I want to use a for loop to read certain data from a txt file and print them to a console. I'm trying to read student names and their grades.
Something like 3 // 3 represents the number of students. George 97 Sarah 70 Maya 88
I am writing a program that models the ups & downs of a particular stock. Everything is pretty much done, except that I need to create another event to notify that saves the following information to a file when the stock's threshold is reached: date & time, stock name, initial value & current value. I have something like this so far:
using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Threading.Tasks; using System.IO;
[Code]...
I feel like i need something along the lines of
s.stockEvent += new Delegate( ???? ) in my myFile class so it know when the threshold is reached, to write the information of the current stock to the file.
I have a question about to run an MFC dialog based C++ application from console: if I run my application from console, I see the application start and the console immediately back to prompt. I need that console wait the application exit before show me the prompt again. I tried on Visual Studio 6, 2005 and 2010 but the behavior is the same.
I passed the CStringArray to dll & wrote the String in a file.
The error File: array_s.cpp, Line No: 420 was occured when i close the .exe file.
For your reference:
Code: Function Declaration in DLL : DECLDIR void SetParName(CStringArray& ParName); Function Definition in DLL : DECLDIR void SetParName(CStringArray& ParName){
ParName.Add("X1"); ParName.Add("X2");
[Vode] .....
My doubt is, CStringArray items are allocated in the DLL. So, when i release the CStringArray object in the application. Is it can release memory that are allocated in the DLL ?
I have a SDI application. I created a method OnClose to handle ON_WM_CLOSE of CMainFrm. This onclose() function calls a method in cmyview.cpp. Here, I created a thread that calls global function and from this function it calls another function in cmyview.cpp. At certain condition my application should close at here, I used postmessgae(WM_CLOSE (or) WM_DESTROY). I am having an error as object reference not set on postmessage(WM_CLOSE) it is going to afxwin2.inl page where exception occurs.
Below is code snippetHere, either j or k will only be true depneds on user input)
I have a Win32 C++ application which works pretty well, but I don't like the GUI and I want to replace it with one designed graphically, a la Windows Forms. What is the best strategy to port my code? I tried creating a new Windows Forms C++ application and got pretty far with it, but was stymied when trying to call my unmanaged functions on a button press. If I can't use Forms to add a GUI without completely rewriting the program, what's my best bet?
In a typical MFC application I use SetRegistryKey(_T("My_Company")); to set the root registry entry for my application. The MFC application however creates an entry by the name of executable where it stores all the settings of that application. I don't want that because we often change the name of executable and I want it read registry from the same set location. As example if my application name is Calculator.exe and Calculator_debug.exe it creates two different registry settings.
I am developing a MDI application that will contain a RibbonBar and a Properties Pane window. The MDI documents are not tabbed. I am finding that when I try to move the client window around, it gets clipped by the RibbonBar and the Properties Pane window (shown in image). I know the client window cannot go outside the client area, but can the client window be on top of the ribbon bar and the properties pane window?
