C :: Encode/ Decode Existing EXE File
Dec 28, 2014
Let's say I have an exe-file (for example computer game) and need to forbid to run it until certain date or time during the day. Any 'manipulations' with file are allowed. offer me a simple way of how to encode/decode such a file?

Write a program that will encode/decode any message based on the given secret instructions.
Input
The input shall be composed of 3 parts: A string, maximum length of 255 characters) in a single input line (i.e., terminated by the end-of-line or carriage return) representing the message to be encoded or decoded, A single character identifying the operation to be performed–‘E’ for encode or ‘D’ for decode, and An integer giving the number of columns to be (or that was) used for encoding called the key.
Output
The program shall display the encoded/decoded message. Since the algorithm fails if a sequence of spaces, at least as long as the key, is formed at, and subsequently deleted from, the end of the last column, replace spaces by periods in the output.
Input Validation
None.
Sample Runs
Enter the message: meet me in the park tonight at seven.
(E)ncode or (D)ecode? E
Enter number of columns (key): 5
Encoded message reads: mm.pth.neetaots.e.hrn.e.tiekiav..n..gte.

I've got some code in C++ that does some basic analysis on price data and I run it from the cmd prompt. One of the functions I had built to read in the data is as follows:
void ReadPricesFromFile(constchar*filename,std::vector<PriceInfo>&prices)
{std::ifstreaminput(filename);
input>>prices;}
How would one merge this type of code into a Qt GUI? Ideally, I'd like to use something like QFileDialog to open up a folder with my data files, select a file, and then read the file that the user selects. Would the main.cpp look something like this?
int main (int argc, char *argv []) {
QApplication prog (argc, argv);
QPushButton *load_button = new QPushbutton ("Load File");
QObject:: connect (load_button, SIGNAL (clicked()), &prog, SLOT ( (ReadPricesfromFile function?);
load_button-> show ();
return prog.exec ();}

I basically want to develop an application which print an existing file on reception of a network event (application will be running on a seven 64 bits PC).
I wonder which application type would be the most suitable (and the simplest) for that (console win32, win32 app, MFC app ...). As this application does not need user intervention (print on network event), I'm not sure that I need a MFC application or a win32 app.

I am wonder what is the fastest way of changing elements in array of characters for encode purpose, here is simple example presenting an idea:
Code:
char *a = "123456789":
char b[] = "ABCDEFGHI";
int 1;
for (i=0;i<strlen(a);i++) {
b[i] = a[i];
}
Is this approach better or worse than bit manipulation ?

I have recently run into a problem at work in regards to organizing information for some variables in a table and sorting them based on priority values...
For example:
Case ID: 0 1 2 3 4
1 (2 3) (1 2) (5 1) **the first number in the () is the priority*
2 **the second number is the variable id**
3
So from up above (I made it shorter than mine), I have a table with 8 columns for the different cases and 30 rows for the different conditions possible. I am trying to figure out a way to create some type of function that will be able to run through the row and pick the case with the highest priority first (from 1-8), and output the case ID, the priority, and the second number within the brackets.
I thought about creating a decoder that will sort the values and give an array with the outputs, but I know there must be a smarter way to sort the data.

I have an array of char representing pixels in a bitmap, which I want to modify. I don't think I can just iterate over the array and pass chars into a function individually, because the function needs to take into account the neighboring pixels, too.
I thought of two ways to do this. The first would be to pass the array to the function as an argument, then have the function change it and return it. The trouble is I'm not exactly sure what happens internally when you pass an array to a function and return it. Is it the same array, modified? Or is it a copy of the array, so now you're using twice as much memory?
Alternatively I guess I could have a function with a void return type and pass a pointer to the array. I'm somewhat new to this, but the way I understand it is that a pointer is like the address of a house, while the array is the actual house. So if I give the function the address, it can go to that address and rearrange the furniture inside the house. Then, after the function returns, I can go to that address myself and see all the rearranged furniture, even though the function has already returned.
Is there a problem with the second way? It seems a bit neater, but maybe I'm understanding pointers wrong.

I would like to get hold of the code for a function that takes a string as input argument and returns a numerical value, either integer or double, according to the the expression represented by the string. For example the string may look like this:
Code:
"(256 * d3 + d4) * factor - offset"
then the function would calculate the value of
Code:
(256 * d[3] + d[4]) * factor - offset
where d is an integer array, factor and offset are double or int variables or constants. For my application the name for the array can be fixed to be "d", and the names for other variables and constants are known. The closest thing I could find on-line is this:
[URL]
which only does literal integer calculations, no double, no variables or constants. Are there existing code that does what I need or do I have to write my own?

Is there some quick way of resetting the contents of an existing array to 0? Just to be clear, I'm not initializing the array, it already exists, has content and needs to be reset at 0. Is there a faster way than the code below?
Code:
for(i=0;i<100;i++)myarray[i]=0;

is it better to reuse an existing variable or create a new variable for the following situation:
/* Is this faster: */
glm::mat4 newViewModelMatrix = (*existingViewMatrix) * (*existingModelMatrix);
/* Or is this faster? */
glm::mat4 existingViewModelMatrix; /* declared in class header - initial value assigned in class constructor */
existingViewModelMatrix = (*existingViewMatrix) * (*existingModelMatrix);
Just wondering if it makes a difference or not.

I am trying to add in a few 3rd party libraries to an existing project solution. I have no source code or knowledge on how the libraries were built (i.e. what run-time library was used). I have recieved the following errors and warnings:
1>CAPS_LIB.lib(PCEfunc.obj) : MSIL .netmodule or module compiled with /GL found; restarting link with /LTCG; add /LTCG to the link command line to improve linker performance
1>libcmt.lib(getenv.obj) : error LNK2005: _getenv_s already defined in MSVCRT.lib(MSVCR90.dll) ***There are multiple of these errors
1>LINK : warning LNK4098: defaultlib 'MSVCRT' conflicts with use of other libs; use /NODEFAULTLIB:library
1>MSVCRT.lib(cinitexe.obj) : warning LNK4098: defaultlib 'libcmt.lib' conflicts with use of other libs; use /NODEFAULTLIB:library
1>libcmt.lib(crt0.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _main
1>C:Program Files (x86)BCI 2000 v3progRelWithDebInfo..CAPSVRInterface.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 1 unresolved externals
CAPS_LIB.lib is one of the libraries I am trying to add in and it seems to be the one causing the problem. I believe I have added in all three libraries into the project solution correctly, but I can't seem to find a solution to these errors.

My question is while I'm reading this book step by step line by line, I reached this example. Building classes then derived classes. How can I add derived class from a class which is already existed. In other words, I have Person Class (which is my base class) and after implementing this class, I would like to create Student Class ( which is my derived class). How can I do that from using Solution Explorer window? I can add base class and derived class together by right click on my project and then add new item then adding class + base class I know that but what if my class in this case existed and I want only to add base class? I know how to add cpp. file and h. file but I want to take advantage of using the formal style if it exists in this case.

I'm very new to MFC & VisualC++. I'm using MSVS2010 Pro. I am trying to write/debug a simple form that saves and restores the content of some edit controls. It seems to work as expected, except the file saves only to the Project Folder, regardless of where I browse and select to save the file.
Code:
void CMFC_FileDialogDlg::OnBnClickedbtnsave() {
this->UpdateData();
CFile f;
//Kinda Correct, Works but still saves in Project Folder
BOOL b_OpenFileDialog = FALSE;//this doesn't act as bool in CFileDialog?
[Code] ....
My only experience is a little simple VB programming in Excel, so any specific examples??? Also, rules seem to change from version to version? I have to "update" a number of undocumented programs.

I have written a C++ program I have multiple of CSV file used as input, which I open one at a time and close it after extracting data to a output file which is the only file.
I run getline(inFile,line);
outFile << line << endl;
I run this code, and only part of it is goes to the output file I got, also have spacing randomly to specific file and inconsistent
But when I slower the code, like system("Pause") in the loop, I can get extract what I want perfectly....
Is my program running to fast, why getline would be skipping part of what things I want?

One of my class assignments is to create a program that receive a .txt file containing a students name and their grades as follows:
John K. 99, 87, 57, 89, 90, 95
Amanda B. Jones 100, 88, 76, 99, 86, 92
etc..
The number of students is unknown until run time. You have to take those grades and average them weighing the first (4) at 10% a piece and the last (2) at 30% each.
Then return an output file with the students name and their letter grade A,B,C,D,F based on their computed score. In addition, on screen it needs to display the average scores for each Q1, Q2, etc. as well as the minimum and maximum for each test on the screen. I am having a hard time in assigning the scores to a variable so that they can then be computed as an average and then used to determine a letter grade. I have begun to write the code and am a bit stuck..here's what I have so far:
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <math.h>
[Code]....

The Objective Of This Program Is To Create A File To Write Text And Read Back The File Content. To Do That I Have Made Two Function writeFile() To Write And readFile() To Read.The readFile() function works just fine but writeFile() doesn't.
How writeFile() function Works? when writeFile() function Execute It Takes Characters User Type And When Hit Enter(ASC|| 10) It Ask "More?(Y/N)" That Means What User Want? Want To Go Next Line Or End Input?
If "Y" Than Inputs Are Taken From Next Line Else Input Ends.
But The Problem Is When Program Encounters ch==10 It Shows "More?(Y/N)" And Takes Input In cmd variable.If cmd=='Y' I Mean More From Next Line Than It Should Execute Scanf Again To Take ch I Mean User Input.But Its Not!!! Its Always Showing "More?(Y/N)" Again And Again Like A Loop.
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
void writeFile(void);
void readFile(void);
int main(){

I'm writing a program that stores records into a file and then these records can be printed out. A last name, first name, and score is stored to be exactly 36 characters long (using leading spaces to pad) making it easier to retrieve specific records. For example, three records stored in the file would like like this: (the underscores are simply to illustrate the distance, they are not in the file itself)
_______lastname_______firstname__90__________lname __________fname_100___________last___________first __60
When printed out, the names are formatted as follows:
lastname, firstname: 90
lname, fname: 100
last, first: 60
However, when I print them out this is what I get:
lastname, firstname: 90
lname, fname: 100$
last, first: 60H
For some reason, for any record after the first, an extra character is added to the end. These characters are not in the file, so I was thinking that the array for some reason wasn't being filled completely, (the array is initialized to size 36 and 36 characters are read from the file using fread) so it was printing out a random character assigned to the 36th array position. Except the character never changes, (always a $ for record 2, H for record 3, l for record 4 if i remember) and I've tried reducing the array size or the number of character read and it's the string that gets altered, the random character always remains. I figure the problem must be in the print_records function (appending seems to work no problem). Anyway here is my print records and appending records code.
Code: /*
- Prints a single record stored in the file pointed to by ifp.
*/
void print_record(FILE *ifp, int record) {
[Code]......
