I've been searching for a long time to find a way to make a cpp program that opens google chrome and goes to a specified url and nothing is working. This is the current code i'm using but its not working because no one really specifies the includes & dlls necessary for execution or if they do they compile with errors....

how to get a list of the active processes on a computer?
What I need to do is check for a specific process to see if it's running on the system.
I just need to know if a certain process is present.
My goal is to know if Windows is installed on an active disk partition.

Now I have establish a communication between this DLL and a WCF web service, that will be deployed in a server PC. The Service will first get a list of PCs either name or IP Address within a network using LDAP (Active Directory) and once, we get the PCs, I have to establish a communication between the web service and the agents that reside in these client PCs,
How can I accomplish this?
This question is from the book Head First C by Griffiths. Starting on p. 110 the book instructs how to develop a JSON file that will be read by the map application on the website: Geo-locater. Starting from a file containing the values of the latitude and longtitude in CSV format a C program is developed to convert it into a JSON file. Up to this point everything worked perfectly although I doubt whether the generated output file conform with the standard of JSON files due to my lack of knowledge. The problems begin after the previous step. First of all, when I try to save the webpage as a whole (from Chrome, Firefox on Ubuntu 12.04.3 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit) the local copy of the map.html file is useless. When the file is double clicked a white blank page is displayed with no map to be seen. However, when it is saved with the only html file option the map is displayed but the JSON file in the same directory is not read by the program to display the corresponding red markers. What may be the reason behind this and how can I remedy the situation? It has been bugging me a lot these days.

1. GetUserName() dont useful becouse it gets name for current process owner(for SYSTEM in my case).

I have a general question on Call Stack of Embedded uCs.
The Call Stack should include all the Active Sub-routines.
For example, in the following sequence:
Func 1 Starts -- Call Func2 --> Func 2 Starts -- Call Func3 --> Func 3 Starts --> YOU ARE HERE
The Stack should include the Return Addresses of Func 2's Body and Func 1's Body, Right?
At any certain moment (e.g. when the uC experiencing a SW Bug), Is it possible to have the uC to get all the Active Sub-Routines from the Stack and print them (e.g. for knowing it at the moment of Bug)?
It'd debug failures, when I don't work with a Debugger.
I know that Debuggers do that - i.e. show you the Call Stack at each moment - So I am wondering if I can get the uC to to it for me every time a bug occurs.

What I have: A basic program for infinitely looping after and testing for an active process. It has a delay system built in to make it so it is not constantly iterating.
What I need: A way to get process IDs from other Processes other than my program. With a way to use that ID to detect if that process is active on the computer or not.

What the goal of my program is: Perform operations to terminate the process of cmd.exe when it is active on the user's computer. Then output the status of the process and the time it took to find that process to the user.

The project is about reading data from PIC and display the data on the dialogue created by the MFC GUI of Visual studio 2010. There are 4 data need to be displayed (2 weight and 2 angle). the data will be display on the edit control box on the dialogue.
I have try to solve the COMPort and Readdata issues many times, but I'm fail. I have read many sources and implement the source codes... They are never work....

In a C++ project, I need to call a C# created COM object (as a .dll)
Is there a way to use such a COM object without having it be registered in the registry?
The C# COM dll is just a "go between" our C++ code and a .NET library, there's no "COM contract" of any kind, the COM interfaces change each version. The fact it's COM and needs registration is annoying because it makes it hard to have multiple versions of our software installed (needed under some circumstances) and running at the same time.
I'd like a way to not have any registration at all. And just be able to do a LoadLibrary("c:TheRightPathcom.dll") of the right dll and then get going from there.

I have a C++ app that uses OpenCV. Currently i am statically linking the OpenCV libs into my app. This is adding an extra overhead of 6+ MB.
i would like to remove some of the features that i am not using in OpenCV. The features am using are,
Capture frames from Webcam.
Face detection.
Image formats (JPEG, PNG).
Image rotation & resizing.
Is it possible to remove other features and trim down the libs?

and from the client (DLL COM with ATL) i want to create an instance of the EXE (CreateInstance(CLSID of the EXE)).
how do i register the exe so that i know the path to the com server.
I have an assignment where I need to go through all the files in a folder. For each file I need to know each unique file extension, how many files for each unique file extension, and the total size for each unique file extension. I have to be able to sort through this using either the file extension or the total size of the file extension. The first thing I thought of using was a map. This will keep track of each unique file extension and the amount of times that file extension was found. How do I now associate the total size of the file extension to my map? So for example I need the output to be something like this:

I got a program from somebody. He had its initialization to run his program but never bothered to save the data for later use. Now I wanted to add the New, Open, Save, and Close to it, so I add OnNewDocument ahead of his program. It crashed every time I ran it.
Shall I include his initialization in the OnNewDocument? If I can not separate the initialization part from his code, e.g., they come in as dll, what shall do?
