Visual C++ :: Cbutton Text Wrap Not Working With Windows Classic Theme
Oct 17, 2013
I'm programming with VS2010, for windows 7. The user likes to use the windows classic theme, and I discovered that BS_MULTILINE style isn't working as I expect. When a button is pressed in the classic theme, it looks like there is a temporary margin added that causes the text to wrap only when the button is pushed. It works fine with any other theme.
What happens is that the `CStatic` control updates without any issues on the OS with visual themes enabled, but if I run it on the OS with the Windows Classic theme (for instance, the screenshot above is from Windows 7) the `CStatic` control produces a visible flicker every time it updates the text.
Well, I understand that I'm nitpicking here, still I would really like to get rid of this flicker.
Here's what I tried:
1. In my actual project I tried subclassing the `CStatic` control and removed the processing of `WM_ERASEBACKGROUND` by simply returning 1. That didn't work.
2. In the same subclass for `CStatic` control I tried to override `WM_PAINT`, but that didn't work at all. So I'm not sure if I'm going too far with it at this point.
I'm attaching the C++/MFC source code for my test project .....
I've done some research and found that people use Mah metro, though I don't want to use that because I want to make a GUI that is fully mine, so I can do what ever I want to customize it to my liking.
Anyhow, I have a program due Wednesday that is along the lines of the classic Bank Teller simulation using Queue's.
Unlike most of these programs, I have to integrate my own Queue, QueueNode, Teller, and Customer classes. I have attached all of these headers below plus the main file.
Now the error: While I'm sure there are other issues with the code, it will not let me create a new customerQueue (of Queue type) object as such:
Queue<Customer> customerQueue;
The error it is giving me is:
no matching constructor for initialization of 'Queue<Customer>'
I am writing an encryption program and I want there to be only numbers and letters in the encryption. My offset is going to be a random number between 8 and 15, so I need to figure out how to wrap numbers on the interval [0,9]. I have been playing around with this for a while now and can't seem to get it to work, although it seems like it should be fairly straight forward. Here is what I have been trying:
I am trying to take text from a file and have it displayed using fprintf at line 46. When I run the below code nothing prints out. My text file has 4 lines with 5 different strings separated by whitespace.
#include <cstdlib> #include <vector> #include <cstring> #include <stdlib.h> #include <errno.h> #include <stdio.h> using namespace std; //declare my own struct
i have turbo c++ 3.0 installed . my program is compiled without error and is running. but when i choose option to display scores in the consol , it hangs . check my code. i have to run this on same compiler. i just want to display all the contenets of text file .
Why my output screen for this program does not want to stay open. It only opens for a split of a second and it's gone. The program is supposed to take numbers from a input file and display and save the manipulation in the output file. Here is the program.
I am trying to query dates between two textbox values converted to datetime in C#. The dates are returning in the correct datetime and no conversion problem exists there.
However when I run the below LINQ to SQL query in C# it returns no enumerable results. But if I take the below code:
DbCommand dc = dbHistoryContext.GetCommand(qryRes); Console.WriteLine(dc.CommandText);
and get the results as a string of text and cut and paste that into the SQL Server Management studio and execute it - then it works. What do I need to do to search between two dates so that it properly works. The field is of format Date in SQL Server if that matters and the fields being used to pass the information to it are DateTime. The compiler doesn't show any errors but it just doesn't return results.
var qryRes = (from res in dbHistoryContext.tblR where res.updateddate >= dtDateFrom.Date && res.updateddate <= dtDateTo.Date select res);
I'm currently trying to work with more than one form, but I didn't succeed yet. What I need is quite simple: Once the program runs, a small form appears first asking "what would you like to do" with corresponding buttons for each option. Each button loads a new different form for a different task. So basically I need to open and close forms, also having two forms loaded at the same time (pop-up style) would be great for certain purposes.
I still haven't figured how to do it properly. I'm currently using VC++ 2008 and my project is a Windows Forms Application.
I've just integrated the Windows SDK V7.0A into my VS2005 application, and I'm getting the dreaded "Application configuration error" when I try to run it on an XP machine.
It runs fine on the development machine, and some customer machines (Win7 and Win8), but will not run on XP due to missing/incorrect version dlls.
I've rebuilt all my libraries, but still no joy.
So, my first question is - If I upgrade the Windows SDK to V7.0A, do I also need to use MFC 10 and msvcrt10, or can I stick with MFC 8?
The next question is, how do I find out which dlls are missing, and which libraries or other dlls are requesting the missing versions?
In my application I have some type of windows showed in an instance of time, and an action shows a new one that i want have the focus all the time , in the way that i can't works with no one of the others. They all are windows, child windows an modeless dialogs, but i don't know how to do. I try use EnableWindow(FALSE) that all the others windows and dialogs, but not works.
I used to retrieve IP and NIC information by querying windows registry. Now I'm trying to use GetAdapterAddresses() API. Using GetAdapterAddresses() to get IP is not that easy, I need to dig a long deep as I check some examples so far, anyways my question is: Calling this API will return success on all versions of Windows ie: 32bits & 64bits ?
Though Microsoft has not opened any source, where this API is actually retrieving Windows IP information.?. Is it reading Registry or some windows file.
I am new in Visual C++ and I have to make an MFC application with "child" windows. Here is what i need to achieve - [URL] ..... As you can observe when you click on the cross of popup window or child window 2 both are closing.
I have a slider control on a dialog box. I am playing a video file and slider moves according to the video elapsed. Suppose I have set the slider range to 100. Now till some point say 90, the slider moves to the point wherever I click the mouse. but at the last point in between some range say 90 - 100 (to the end of the slider), if I click the mouse button anywhere, slider jumps to the end.
I am using a TimeLine control where user can add more than 1 video (1, 2, 4, 8, 10 , 50 etc......), If I use only one video, slider moves as per the video progression.....Issue arises when I add more than 1 video and click on the start button, slider starts moving....Now when I drag the slider to any position or I click the mouse button anywhere on the slider control, slider thumb moves to that position and immediately jumps back to some other position. This is the Issue, I am facing.
share some sample code where slider is moving with the video showing the progress of the video.
I want to implement a functionality similar to VLC player. Wherever user clicks the mouse, slider moves to that point.
