I'm trying to create a program that allows the user to enter an unknown number of income and expense amounts. The program has to us see a while loop and display the income total, expense total, and total profit or loss. I've got it really close, but I'm doing the loop wrong. It counts the sentinel value (-1) towards the total, instead of just ending like it is supposed to.

I am having trouble calculating the median and mode in a program that I am writing. When I run the program, lets say there are 5 students being surveyed. The input is as follows, Student #1 sees 2 movies, student #2 sees 6,student #3 sees 5 movies, student #4 sees 2 movies, and student #5 sees 1 movie. However, for the median, I get 5, because that is at element 2, and thus midway through the count, so the program interprets that number as the median. For the mode, even though 5 is repeated twice, the program displays that there was no mode, or displays "-1" (indicating no mode). Here is my code:

I have been asked to write a program to grade several multiple-choice exams. The exam has less than 80 questions, each answered with a letter in the range of ‘a’ through ‘f’. The data are stored on several files such as exam1.dat where the first line is the key, consisting of a string of n characters (0<n < 80). The remaining lines on the file are exam answers, and consist of a student ID number, a space, and a string of n characters.
The program should have a while loop in the main routine to ask users input a data file name through keyboard. In this way, the program has a capability of repeatedly asking for a new data file in each while loop until users input a key word “exit”. I am trying to write up something to have a user to enter a four digit number. Only four digits, Ex: 0001, 0116, or 9999. There is no getting around the selection 0001 or 0002. I understand if not done correctly, the first three 0's will be ignored.

At the moment it just waits if you enter less than six numbers and if you enter any more than 6 it just ignores anything after the sixth number (so pretty much does nothing). Also if I entered 1 2 a b 3 4 instead of entering six numbers it would register that as 1 2 0 0 3 4 but I want it to make the user input the numbers again. I'm also aware that "while (1>0)" isn't good programming form but I'm not really sure what to use instead?
