C :: How To Make Custom Program For Packaging Multiple Files In One

Nov 5, 2014

I want to make a custom program for packaging multiple files in one. Not as complicated as ZLIB or others. Consider few files, XML, txt, JPG, OGG, I want them to be added in 1 file. Not visible not readable. Just a datafile. I have some ideas about creating some kind of indexing of the start byte, end byte of each file. But I am still way too far. Can you point me some direction at what should I stress in creating this software. It will be portable since I am planning to use stdlib, stdio only, maybe and string to recreate the filenames from the large chunk datafile.

C++ :: Program Crashing When Reading Text From Files

Feb 5, 2014

I'm writing a code obfuscator in C. Debugger shows no errors in the code, but the program crashes after compiling -- I'm guessing it has something to do with while loops or reading data from files.

Code:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <string.h>
#include <time.h>
// list off all replaced elements
typedef struct ReplaceList {
char *from;// from string
char *to;// to string (random)

C :: How To Write A Program To Make The User Input With Text

Sep 22, 2013

I need to write a program to make the user input some text, and the first letter of each word has to be uppercase. (have to use while loops)

So for example lets say the user inputs:

i lOvE pRoGrAmMiNg

The output needs to be:

I Love Programming

Code: int main()
{
char c, lower_c;
printf("Enter Text");
while (c != '' && c >= 0)
{
if (c >= 'A' && c <= 'Z')
lower_c = c + 32;
else
lower_c = c;

[Code]...

I have started this code by making the letters lowercase (I don't know if this was the right way to approach this, ). I am not sure how proceed after this step, the step of making the first letter uppercase. (PS for the program, loops should be while loops)

C :: Matrix Program - Read Two Saved Text Files

Jan 29, 2013

Basically I am to create a program that will read two saved text files; one is [2x4] ~ (matrixA.txt) and another is [4x2] ~ (matrixB.txt). The program is supposed to read both text files, multiply them, and generate an output that will be saved as ~ (matrixC.txt).

So here is my horrible attempt at it:

I am trying to make a simple program, I would like it to be able to do the following, Write a program that opens two text files (input1.txt and input2.txt) for input .The program should write the followings in the two files. input1.txt:

This is the first line in input1.txt.
This is the second line in input1.txt.
This is the third line in input1.txt.
This is the fourth line in input1.txt.

input2.txt:

C++ :: Display Last 1000 Lines From Multiple Text Files (log Files)

Jan 16, 2014

I am writing a piece of code that requires me to display the last 1000 lines from a multiple text files (log files). FYI, I am running on Linux and using g++.

I have a log file from which - if it contains more than 1000 lines, I need to display the last 1000 lines. However, the log file could get rotated. So, in case where the current log file contains less than 1000 lines, I have to go to older log file and display the remaining. For e.g., if log got rotated and new log file contains 20 lines, I have to display the 980 lines from old log file + 20 from current log files.

What is the best way to do this? Even an outline algorithm will work.

C :: How To Emulate Object Orientation With Multiple Files And Make File

Feb 13, 2013

how to structure my classes so that they all "wire together" and inherit the proper functions and data that I want them to. I want to have a Car.c and car.h which are "wired" with body.c/body.h, which in turn is wired with a frame.c/frame.h, wheel.c/wheel.h, and driver.c/driver.h.

Each part of the car holds some type of data, mostly ints: The car has a (total) mass and car_name. The body has a mass and color. The frame has a mass. The wheel(s) have a mass and force. [There will be 4 instances of wheel] The driver has a mass and driver_name. Each of these functionalities must come from their respective .c and .h files, and be amalgamated in the car.c and car.h (which should contain all the functionality of its parts). Then, in my main test program, I am to make an instance of car and hardcode in its values of: mass (which comes from the total mass of all of its parts, this is where i start to lose it.

How will I access its parts' masses in the test program?), color (a character array), current position (an integer), current velocity (an integer), and current acceleration (which comes from the total newton force of the 4 wheels, again this is where I start to get very confused). (Then in the test program I am to print out a simulation of this car over a period of 100 seconds, and show its position, velocity, and acceleration at each point (based on the mass, total newton force, and starting position). This part is of course a simple while loop, and is somewhat trivial.)

From what I understand, I will need to allocate memory for all of the data each class holds. Then, using function pointers, as well as #include "X.h" , I will need to somehow link up all of the classes together so that car has access to all of the parts' functions which set, for example, the newton force of each wheel.

We have learned a slight bit about structs, malloc, sizeof, and pointers, but I have not used them to link functionality or data from separate classes together.

C++ :: How To Create Unique Types Like That Of Boost Files

Apr 5, 2013

I've been studying metaprogramming and reviewing many documents and code regarding boost files. What I've been trying to understand and accomplish is creating various types using typedef, template and struct, similar to that of the boost files themselves, to create comparators. Ultimately, I want to be able to create a type that has sub-properties which can be further compared and classified.

Informal example:

create type
typedef int coordinate[3];
create standards - "typeless prototypes"
static const coordinate _x = {1,0,0};
static const coordinate _y = {0,1,0};
static const coordinate _z = {0,0,1};

We "now have" three variables under one unique type. Now I want to wrap this further to work with other types (int, float, etc.).

create special cases

template<class ty, coordinate c> struct coord_type;
typedef coord_type<int,x> x_i;
typedef coord_type<float,x> x_f;
typedef coord_type<int,y> y_i;
typedef coord_type<float,y> y_f;
typedef coord_type<int,z> z_i;
typedef coord_type<float,z> z_f;

declare more standards

const x_i i_i;
const x_f i_f;
const y_i j_i;
const y_f j_f;
const z_i k_i;
const z_f k_f;

Where other variables can be represented based off this i,j,k standard and written in a more direct vector form.

And so on...

What I essentially would like to do is have x,y,z variables act as standards for an i,j,k system that classify arbitrary variables of the coordinate type: Is the arbitrary variable i, j, or k? Is it defined as an int or float type?

Where arguments such as sum_y = var1 + var2; are valid, provided:
sum_y is outputted as 6j, and var1 and var2 are 2j and 4j, respectively.

Column1=date, Column2=Month, Column3=Day, Column4=Hour, Column5=Minute, Column6=Seconds, Column7=Voltage(Vrms), Column8=Current(Irms), Column9=Frequency(Hz).

I have to develop a program that will analyse these time-sampled voltage and current measurements over 24 hours and find the total energy used, mean and peak power consumption and Energy used over each hour of the 24 hour period.

How do I go about doing this? I also need to include at least one numerical integration technique. The file data contains over 50 thousand lines in the format mentioned above.
