C :: How To Display Characters In Binary
Feb 5, 2015
I know how loops work. I know about bitmasks and how to display characters in binary. How should i proceed now in order to make an app that consists of online booking or knowing someones location.

I know this is more simple than I am making it out to be. I have a solar panel hooked up to an 8-Bit ADC and linked into my Microprocessor. I am trying to take the Binary readout from the ADC and convert it to a decimal number to be displayed on the boards LCD display. I am wiring the ADC to PORTA on my Motorola Freescale Board. This is for a final project for my electronic systems class due on Monday...

What shall I learn in order to send values from 0.00 to 5.00? I'm working with they Hitachi 16x2 LCD display.I've been sending/displaying literal values on it all day.
Code:
SendCharater(unsigned char val)
where the variable val corresponds to the LCD character table.I can also send Hello World to the display, like so:
Code:
void putsXLCD(unsigned char *buffer){
while(*buffer) // Write data to LCD up to null
{
while( BusyXLCD() ); // Wait while LCD is busy
SendCharacter(*buffer); // Write character to LCD
buffer++; // Increment buffer
}
return;
}
I could type in putsXLCD("5.00") in order to display it on the LCD, but how do I implement this automatically for values, e.g. 0.00 to 5.00?It appears I can only pass literal values through the function SendCharacter, meaning that in order to display "0" I have to pass the value 0x30 (the hex value of "0" on the LCD Table).
My current thought process:Much like passing "Hello World" in the function putsXLCD(), I need to assign a pointer that points at each value in the "array" that I need to send. E.g., I need to send 3.24, so I need to point to "3", fetch the corresponding hex value in the LCD table, in this case 0x34, and the pass this 0x34 into the SendCharacter function, and so on. So, if this is the case, how can I fetch the corresponding hex value?

I want to separate this binary string every 4 characters..I am trying to get a better understanding of how variables are stored in memory and I am looking at their binary address for a pattern..I see a pattern for the last 4 bits
#include <iostream>
#include <bitset>
int main() {
using namespace std;
int x[100];
[Code] ....

My assignment is "Search Benchmarks: Write a program that has a sorted array of at least 20 integers. It should call a function that uses the linear search algorithm to locate one of the values. The function should keep a count of the number of comparisons it makes until it finds the value. The program then should call a function that uses the binary search algorithm to locate the same value. It should also keep count of the number of comparisons it makes. Display these values on the screen."
I'm unsure how to make it show the number of comparisons it takes to find the value for the binarySearch function. Also, where to put the selectionSort function the teacher said we need. This is what I have...
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int linearSearch(const int a[], int num);
int binarySearch(const int a[], int num);
void selectionSort(int a[]);
[Code] .....

Create a program that will ask the user to enter a decimal value (1-999999) then display its corresponding binary numbers. Repeat this process until the value entered is equal to 0. Use the following Function Prototype:
void BinCodes(int value);
Sample Input/Output:
Enter a Decimal: 35
Binary: 100011
Enter a Decimal: 184
Binary: 10111000
Enter a Decimal: 0

I am coding in C++ an implementation of BTree Insertion. I want to display the contents of the Tree in a per-level format. After writing functions and trying to run. I get the error Undefined reference.
// C++ program for B-Tree insertion
#include<iostream>
using namespace std;
// A BTree node
class BTreeNode{
int *keys; // An array of keys
int order; // Minimum degree (defines the range for number of keys)
BTreeNode **child; // An array of child pointers
int size; // Current number of keys

Im supposed to find the common characters between two string characters, assuming that the user wont input duplicate letters like ddog. When I run my code I get an output of a question mark upside down. Here is my code with comments on what each part is supposed to do
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <string.h>
int main(){
char str1[20], str2[20],remp = '
