Write a program that is able to save a list of items such as books, CDs, or DVDs and the items that are saved must have attributes associated with them. For example a book has a title, author, publisher, and ISBN.I would like to create a program that is able to save the database of items to a file on the hard drive and also retrieve it from the hard drive.I have this for a start of how to set up a storing program.

I know I should use arrays and structs but I don't where to start.

Opening large files in c++. In my application, i am trying to save video as long as users have space in harddisk. What I am trying to do is when user is recording video i am trying to append the video data in to the file. The problem is that every time file size reach over 2GB my software crashes.

My objective is to create a file and save some text in it. But the twist is that file should be created in pdf format.

How do you create a save file for a game, that is not a separate file? Specifically I am using code::blocks and sfml 2.1 to make a game and it saves to a text file at the moment. My problem is that it is very easy to modify the text file, and it is annoying to have to copy and paste several files if you want to use a copy of the game. I have a feeling that it may be to do with resource files, but I'm not exactly sure how to get these to work or whether you can modify them dynamically.

What is the best way to save a c# web page to database, either sql or oledb both fine. What I am looking to do is save all the data that has been entered into a database then upload this data to a grid view or form view.
The problem is there is a a lot of data on the page. Such as drop down lists, check boxes panels text boxes. I am able to display the text boxes in the database when i enter information into them. this is not working for the other objects. Also there is fixed data in the panels which doesn't require user input but I still want this info saved as it is vital.
In short I want to save the data from a page ive created called DOCare.aspx into a database. then take the data and display it in Forms.aspx a different page, where it will list all the completed forms for the user to modify if needed.
How to do this or links to websites that have information on this?? Dont know if i am wording it wrong but just cant find a way to do this. Everyone ive seen is working with small amounts of data and only text boxes.

I had assign to do a project using c# window form.Now I am doing a smart part of coding which is let the data in textbox and using keypress function with a enter,the data will save in database and show on datagridview.I had searching how to do it online but all of them using mysql or sqlcommand something to do it! But my project is using the code that already done and can access without mysql or sql coding... Using this code to connect and show in datagridview...

I need to do a code that gave me Original string, uppercase string, lowercase string, reverse string (if letter is upper then convert to lower, and if lower then convert it to upper) and uppercase first (first character of each word in uppercase).
I need to do it in functions but i dont know hot to use strings. The program should provide the option to save the outputs in a file.

I am trying to develop a GUI using MFC, but I am having trouble using CFiledialog to save a file. The problem is, the file is not getting saved to the folder when I use the CFiledialog. Below is the code I am using.

I would like the user to insert a CD into their computer and click on an button on my application that allows them to read the CD-ROM and find a specific file type, e.g. csv, and then grab the info in the csv file.
I already have my StreamReader setup grabbing a filepath.
Now I am just wondering...how do I detect the CD-ROM and how do I grab the filepath of the only CSV file on the CD-ROM?
What's behind detecting a CD-ROM and grabbing a specific file type from a CD-ROM?
I heard about DriveInfo
However, that only allows me to detect a drive but not look at it's contents.

Currently I'm trying to do something extremely basic: delete or move a file
I have a mapped network drive (Y) where I have a file I need to move from one folder to another
First was doing the obvious:
System.IO.File.Move("Y:TempFile.txt", "Y:Temp2File.txt");
Not much to go wrong here, right? As long as I have the correct permission to write in the folders and the folders exists, this would normally go smooth. But for some reason it only copies the file. The source file still exists, but it has successfully copied the file to the destination folder. No exceptions has been thrown or anything... but the file still exists in the source directory
I then changed the code to the following:
System.IO.File.Copy("Y:TempFile.txt", "Y:Temp2File.txt");
System.IO.File.Delete("Y:TempFile.txt");
Console.WriteLine("See mommy, no Exceptions");
As expected the file copies correctly, but the delete command is completely ignored. The file is not deleted, but the Console.WriteLine command is called
I'm running the application as the logged in user. The user has permission to delete the file. If I try from Windows Explorer, the file is correctly deleted. Unfortunately my application refuses to delete the file and even worse, it will not even throw an Exception.

I'm trying to make a database that stores the information without overwrite it. I want this program to store the client’s selection in somewhere that doesn't change and also that creates a new storage for the new value any time the client enters a new selection instead of overwriting it. I did something like that in my code but any time the program runs again and the client enters a new selection, the client’s selection is overwritten with the new value. I don’t know if it’s possible to do that (store the client’s selection in somewhere where doesn't change) with C++. I've been reading and I think I can create a database for my program.
