C :: Simple Regex To Find Word But Not Containing Some Other Words
Sep 13, 2013
I've been trying to do a RegEx, but I just can't seem to find the solution for it.
Do the following to find Test:
Test55: Will be allowed
TestABC: Will NOT be allowed
Basically, if Test is followed immediately by anything else other than a case-insensitive letter (not [a-zA-Z]), then it will pass.

string skirt = "[\s,.;:!?()\-]+";
regex re(skirt);
sregex_token_iterator it(begin(), end(), re, -1);
sregex_token_iterator reg_end;
for(; it != reg_end; ++it) {
string zodis = it->str();
}
}
I use this to get a word from a large text file. But the problem is, if there is :
however,
It prints out now
however,
but
however
without a separator.
How can I fix that?

I've taken part the text into 1 word per line, but I can't figure out how to printf every word only once and then add (%d) in the end to show how many repetitions of that word there are.
Code:
#include <iostream>
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <string.h>
using namespace std;
int main(){
char *oneword;

I have text (string) and I want to find a given word (it's ok!) and then insert another given word after the first word. The original string is beeing copied into a new string. But something is going wrong!!! Where is my mistake?
(I have some patches...)
Code:
#include <stdio.h>

Read in n, then n lastnames, and check to see if the first in the list is ever repeated again.Here's what I have so far:
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
int strcmp(char *w1, char *w2);
int main() {
int j, n;
char string1[30], string2[30];
}
[code]....
I see the problem is that it lies within n amount of string that I am not going through every string to compare to the first one.How will do compare every string to the first one?
Current output:
3
alex
alex
alex
Not repeated
3
alex
ash
peter
Not repeated

I have this problem that I need to solve. Here is the link. [URL] ....
I have to design something to search words according to that and I think I can do it but the problem I am having is how would I go about doing this? I think I can design something that would link the words together based on the changes in letters but I'm not sure how exactly I would do that. I wanted to brainstorm .
I have an idea that maybe I can get all the words and sort them into bins based on how many letters they have. One bin will be strictly for words with three letters, another will be strictly for words with four letters and so on and so forth. From those bins I can maybe make a vertex where it will look through the bins and find a word that changes by one letter and such till I get to the other word but at the same time I'm not sure how to implement that.

I have program that is supposed to read in a story from an input file and separate the words and output the lines on which the word occurs. It needs to read in another input file that has a list of words (1 per line) to ignore. i.e. skip them when running through the story. This is what I have so far, I've changed multiple things trying to get it running....
#include<iostream>
#include<fstream>
#include<map>

Code:

./bar
./baz

I'm currently on an exercise that specifies that I find any repeated words, "the the" for example, in a string, print the word that is repeated and how many times said word is repeated using a while loop that reads one word at a time and break statements when a repeated word is found. Having a bit of a falling out with iterators tonight and I'm not doing to well.

I wrote this code to search words in the file and display if the program found the word or not. when i write the words in the file on the same line (without the endl) like this :
w_toFile << "gilbert";
w_toFile << "lara";
w_toFile << "rana";
i can search any word.
but when i write them with the endl, the program can find only the first word. what can i do to make the program find any word even if they are each on a line?
here is the full code:
#include <iostream>
#include <windows.h>
#include <fstream>
#include <string>
using namespace std;
int main (void) {
string wordsearch;

I need to find 2 similar words in one sentence and i need to find how much symbols are between these two words. I can't figure out the algorithm.
For example sentence would be-
This is nice table and nice chair.
Similar words are- nice
Symbols between them are 11 or 8(dont know if space is count as symbol)
int main()
char text[200],*dist;
printf("Enter one sentence
");
gets(text);
Maybe first of all would be
dist=strtok(text, " ,.!?");
while(dist!=0)
{
printf("%s
", dist);
dist=strtok(NULL, " ,.!?");
}
and it wil output each word and maybe then can search for similar words if there would be 2 strings then i would use strstr but i dont know how to do with one string.

Would you use regex? (not sure how though)
Or, would you go through the hard way, and iterate through every word, until you discarded (n-1) words and reached the nth word?
The second wouldn't be so short and clear to one who reads the code, therefore i was wondering if there's a neater way.

I have a templated container that defines a forward iterator.
Calling std::distance on these iterators will generate code that will count the number of iterations it takes to get from the first parameter to the second, by repetitively incrementing.
Internally, the iterators can easily find the distance by a simple subtraction.
What I want to do is overload std::distance for these iterators so that it will take advantage of the simple calculation rather than repetitive increments.
The simple solution of course would be to make the iterators random access, but this would require that they support functionality that is not 'logical' for the container. Access to the container only makes logical sense when iterating one item at a time in the forward direction.
Code:
#include <iterator>
template <typename T>
class Container {
public:
class iterator : public std::iterator<std::forward_iterator_tag, T> {
[Code] .....

This program is to solve a word maze and find the number of words in the maze from a dictionary file.
The program runs, but stops by finding 1,2 and 3 letter words.
#include<iostream>
#include<vector>
#include<fstream>
#include<algorithm>
#include<string>
using namespace std;
int main() {
vector <string> dict,forward,reverse;
[Code] .....
I also tried to find words using the entire vector as a container, the synopsis code that also did not work is below
while(j<dict.size()) {
if(dict[j].size()>2) {
if (std::find(forward.begin(), forward.end(), dict[j]) != forward.end()) {
cout<<"found word "<<dict[j]<<endl;
[Code] ....

if (SecondSide.find('

SecondSide.erase(SecondSide.find('

but it had no effect.

I've written a function that has to receive a word as parameter, and then has to find the amount of times that word (uppercase & lowercase) occurs in a text file:
For example, if the word "the" is sent as a parameter, the total amount of times the words "the" and "THE" occurs in the text file, has to be calculated.
However, my function is not displaying the correct amount, what is wrong with my function:
int WordCount :: countWords(string wrd)

int counter=0;
string temp = "";

I'm undertaking a project at the moment which requires me to hook into a custom c++ application from a Java applet via JNI. The c++ application needs to communicate with MS Word and potentially other office programmes in order to highlight text and offer find/replace functionality programatically. The idea is that when the applet is launched, it will communicate with the C++ methods to hook into an open MS Word document and highlight all words that start with the letter 't' for example.
I'm concentrating on the C++ side of things first . Even some basic access to an open word document would give me a great start!

Basically I have a text file called words. I'm supposed to extract a word randomly form the file and have the user guess the word. If they guess the word correctly in x number of tries they will receive the definition.
I'm having trouble receiving that random word and I'm getting the definitions from the file.
Here's my code:
#include <iostream>
#include <fstream>
#include <string>
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <time.h>
using namespace std;
[Code] ....
This is what is in the words.txt file
apple#the usually round, red or yellow, edible fruit of a small tree
boat#a vessel for transport by water
horse#a solid-hoofed plant-eating domesticated mammal with a flowing mane and tail, used for riding
television#a system for transmitting visual images and sound that are reproduced on screens
soup#a liquid dish, typically made by boiling meat, fish, or vegetables, etc.
bottle#a container, typically made of glass or plastic and with a narrow neck
barber#a person who cuts hair
toast#sliced bread browned on both sides by exposure to radiant heat
radar#a system for detecting the presence, direction, distance, and speed of aircraft, ships, and other objects
red#of a color at the end of the spectrum next to orange and opposite violet
