C++ :: Program To Find And Delete All Vowels In A Word That Is User Entered
Mar 25, 2013
The program should find and delete all vowels in a word that is user entered. This is what I have so far and I know it should be essentially this format I just don't know how to set entered word and word equal to each other.
Code:
#include <string>
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
void vowelremover(string&);
string word;
int main ()
{//string word;

I am trying to find the max number entered by the user, and it should terminate when a negative number is entered. For my code, it will just end when the user inputs a lower number than the previous. i.e.- 10 20 15 "The highest number is 20" when it should be "10 20 5 40 15 -1" "The highest number is 40". No arrays or do/while loops either.
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int Max(int x);
int main() {
int x;
[Code] ....

How to find the largest and smallest number entered by a user. So far I'm able to add, find the average and count how many numbers are entered.
I'm just having trouble with find the max and min. I tried if statements and it breaks the program will it wont let me exit the while loop or the program will do a force close after entering a value.
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
int main(){
int maxNum=0, minNum=0, value, count=0, sum=0;
double average;

I am trying to write code to find all the prime numbers before a user entered number. I started with a working program and when I tried to create a function, it got all messed up.
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
int is_prime( int num );
int get_positive_integer(void);
int main( ) {
int upper; /* upper limit to check */
int num; /* current number to check */
int isprime;
/* used to flag if number is prime or not */
[Code]...
It says the error is on line 23

I'm learning programming, and C++. I've got a question, but I couldn't solve my problem so far. I need to use arrays and only basic stuff to solve this:
Create a program that reads a word from the user and then print (cout) this word on contrary. It's simple, I know, but I can't do it,. I've tried some stuff but I don't get how I will get the proper values to do this. All I know is that I can use variable.lenght().

I'm trying to write a program that capitalizes every other word of a user output. (ex: if input is "i love you", the output is "i LoVe YoU").
I am using a for loop (although an if loop might be easier?) and I'm assuming that it is possible to write this program using a for loop (although I may be wrong--maybe only if loops can write this program). I have everything down EXCEPT the last step where I have to print the entire sequence. What i have so far is:
Code:
#include <cs50.h>
#include <stdio.h>
#include <string.h>
{
// get user input
printf("Type a sentence: ");
string s = GetString();
[Code] .....
The code above basically only prints out the capital letter (ex: input is "hello", output is "EL"). I don't know how to print out the entire sequence.

//insert "new_word" after each occurence of "word"

The code below replaces lowercase characters by upper case and uppercase character by lowercase. Also, I should be able to break out of the loop when I enter 'exit'. It does what it is supposed to do. But I had to come up with a function to break out of 'the while loop'. Is there any shorter or more concise way to break out of the loop when 'exit' is entered?
#include <stdio.h>
#include <string.h>
#include <stdlib.h>

Basically I have a text file called words. I'm supposed to extract a word randomly form the file and have the user guess the word. If they guess the word correctly in x number of tries they will receive the definition.
I'm having trouble receiving that random word and I'm getting the definitions from the file.
Here's my code:
#include <iostream>
#include <fstream>
#include <string>
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <time.h>
using namespace std;
[Code] ....
This is what is in the words.txt file
apple#the usually round, red or yellow, edible fruit of a small tree
boat#a vessel for transport by water
horse#a solid-hoofed plant-eating domesticated mammal with a flowing mane and tail, used for riding
television#a system for transmitting visual images and sound that are reproduced on screens
soup#a liquid dish, typically made by boiling meat, fish, or vegetables, etc.
bottle#a container, typically made of glass or plastic and with a narrow neck
barber#a person who cuts hair
toast#sliced bread browned on both sides by exposure to radiant heat
radar#a system for detecting the presence, direction, distance, and speed of aircraft, ships, and other objects
red#of a color at the end of the spectrum next to orange and opposite violet

I'm trying to code a program to read the user's input and have it:
-count vowels
-stop counting vowels after '.' or '?' (ie. abcdjwef is 1 a, 1 e; while fje.fwdfeiii is just 1 e)
-closes when ENTER is pressed after a '.' or '?' is found (ie. closes after 'abacds. ENTER' as well as 'as.fefsdf ENTER')
-display the number of vowels
Is there any way to do this with only 'cin >> userInput' and a while loop checking for punctuation?

Program is to add two fractions together like so..
This program adds fractions. ‘Y’ continues, any other key exits program
===================================================
Enter numerator 1 ==> 1
Enter denominator 1 ==> 3
Enter numerator 2 ==> 1
Enter denominator 2 ==> 6
1 1 1
--- + --- = ---
3 6 2
-----------------------------------------------------
Continue? Y or N! ==> n
My question is that i need each input to be a number.
if a character is entered i want it to output something like..
This program adds fractions. ‘Y’ continues, any other key exits program
===================================================
Enter numerator 1 ==> 1
Enter denominator 1 ==> a
You need to enter a number here.
Press any key to continue.
and then clear the part where the letter was entered.
