I have to develop a C program that reads a very complex txt file (output of a calculation code, so full of mixed text and numerical tables), search for a specific table in it and individuate/print or replace a specific value with assigned position in the table.

My text file have 220 663 lines and 858 995 characters (I used Linux commands : wc to count them. If I use array to store data, I think it's too large array. But if use fstream, I dont know to access each element in stream to compare and replace. I dont know How many labels such as: A1, C- A1, AM- MNR... which I have to replace.
I have a program that gives the user the option to create an employee ID, name, address and so on. It also has the option to search employee by employee ID.
What I want to know is how to add and replace employee info. For example employee changes address. Also how to delete employee information from text file.

It is under choice 3, most of my program runs correctly but I am just stuck at this part.
I'm creating simple console application using Code::Blocks to allow me to pass parameters from other application to replace string within text/registry file before execute the registry merge. Passing parameters to console already success. Now I only have problem with reading file. Example of first line in the registry file is as below.

However when read into string and output to console using 'cout', it will be show as below with spaces in between.

I am having an issue with my sort function. This is one part of the Hash table program. The main issue is that I am trying to sort the pointer table after all of the values have been entered. The ptr_sort function is not a class function and so I am therefore unable to use the class variables psize and pTable. Is there another way I should be trying this? it is a Vector should I use the sort() function from the vector class in STL?

I am having a lot of trouble trying to save and upload a data table from a text file ,the data table which is bound to a datagrid, creates its own columns at the formloading event, and everytime a user clicks a button row is added to the data table. With the loading i put this code which i thought would read a text file and put all the content my datatable however a exception pops up saying Duplicate Name exeption. I'm trying to make a program that will search for a line in a text file using a non default delimitor at the start of the line. An example line in the text file would be as follows:

I have been able to use the find function to search for and return the 'F' character but would like it to then display the whole corresponding line. Is this possible with the find function?

I'm building a find and replace function for my text editor I'm building the function without support from the algorithm header.
The function is written like: doc.find_replace("Word_to_be_replaced", "The_word_that_is_replacing"); I find this very easy to understand replace this, with this.
find_replace will both have char * as their arguments.
The problem I'm having right now if I replace a bigger word for a smaller word how do I delete the extra characters from memory.
So if I replace "Goodbye" with "Hello" how do I delete the last two characters? So I don't print garbage code.

I have a report that's generated by a piece of software, and (I'm assuming because it was intended for Linux/Unix) when I open to read it in notepad, it has a bunch of funky symbols in it, and incorrect line feed characters instead of returns that windows uses.
I looked at the txt file with a hex editor and can see all the hex codes for the symbols I want deleted. One of the symbols 0A.
How can I do a "find and replace" command but do it with hex codes? These symbols cant be simply placed into my code file because VS does not know how to interpret it.

I would like to extract and analyse the data but the data behind the NUL entry is not accessible for me maybe due to the fact that NUL normally marks the end of a line. Is there a method to remove the NUL entries in this text file?
I have chosen C# as our language . Students have to enter a name of a recipe, followed by the number of people it will serve, followed by a list of ingredients for a recipe. This, then, needs to be exported to a text file. This bit I am fine with.
They then have to import the file back into C# and recalculate for a new number of people. This is the bit I am struggling with. The calculation is fine, I can do that. The issue is getting it to loop around each column of data to not only perform a calculation (I have just set it up to multiply by an entered value for now). I'm undertaking a project at the moment which requires me to hook into a custom c++ application from a Java applet via JNI. The c++ application needs to communicate with MS Word and potentially other office programmes in order to highlight text and offer find/replace functionality programatically. The idea is that when the applet is launched, it will communicate with the C++ methods to hook into an open MS Word document and highlight all words that start with the letter 't' for example.
I'm concentrating on the C++ side of things first . Even some basic access to an open word document would give me a great start!

There are 7 candidates and 365 votes in total. I need to do this using an array of structures. I need to read from a text file each of the names of the candidate and the number of votes they get. At the end i need to output the winner of the election.

Each candidate gets +1 vote for their number electionCandidate[0] for each one he gets one vote and so on for the rest. 365 voters in total.
I was able to input the name for each Candidate from the text file. Now the problem is putting each vote to the corresponding candidate. Also any vote that is above 7 is a spoilt vote which i am trying to count in the above code. The code compiles but it crashes.
I am using while(!feof) but it seems that its not working or this is not the correct way.
Text file can conain one or three integer values in string. How correctly and simplicity read this string?

It then says I need to display the distance and direction from one point to the next. I tested it out, and it works.I need to use a conditional statement, and I'm a little confused how to display the direction(right, left, up, or down).I think I need to use an. "If" statement with my first one being something like:
If (y2 = y1) && (x2 > x1)
and I'm not sure what else to put,or if this is wrong. And with y staying the same and x increasing, the direction would be right.

The Value1 and value 2 are created as REG_SZ (String) but as per my requirement,
Value1, should be REG_EXPAND_SZ
Value 2, should be REG_DWORD
Need to convert them in my code and then to insert into the MSI database.
I am trying to work with C# and i am stuck here. My problem is i want to retrieve the count of all the users in a specific side. Let me Explain. Here is my table snapshot with sample data.
Now what i want exactly is that i get the count of users in a specific side as i give a user id as a parameter.The data is stored in MS Sql Database and i have to implement this on a website so efficiency of code is also a issue.
