C# :: Resizing Panel Controls On A Maximized Form (VS2008)

Mar 1, 2014

I made one application in Visual Studio 2008. The main form is maximized, and contains many panels with different controls (like buttons, listboxes, etc,). All the controls have the dock option fixed as true in panels, and the panels occupied the whole area of form.

Now, when I try to run this application in a machine, with different resolution of the screen, the form is maximized (naturally), but the panels are not resizing, so the form has many null area. How can I resize the panel so, that they fill the whole form area?

Visual C++ :: Resizing Controls And Text Content

Sep 11, 2013

I have a SDI application that uses a CFormView class to create a window and this window has 2 buttons and 2 edit boxes.

I can resize this window, like minimize and maximize, but the controls all stay at the same place.

I know that it's possible to move the controls based on window size.

But what i want to do is, as the window is expanded the controls and it's text content to grow proportionally and same when the window is shrinked.

Is that possible to do? i.e., increase/decrease size of controls and texts per window size.

C# :: Controls In Windows Form Won't Show

Feb 21, 2015

I created a simple calculator in Win App. When I played it, the form is displayed blank. Not a single control is shown.

The only thing I've done differently is adding a Coded UI Test in my test project. This is the first time I'm going to try to add a coded UI test so I wonder if that's the cause for this.

C# :: Staggered Columns In WrapPanel Or Custom Panel For ListView

Jan 23, 2014

I've been trying for a while now and I can't seem to replicate this model without using a grid. I've tried making some simple custom panels and a wrappanel that makes a new column after n pixels or n number of items which works; however, I'm unable to find a way to stagger each column.

Here's an image of what I'm trying to do:

enter image description here

I've made solutions that use a Grid that do stagger the columns however what I need is a panel that uses columns only and it must be able to be used as the itemspanel for a ListView.

C# :: Concurrent Sharp Panel Connection With Semaphores And Buffers

Apr 26, 2014

I have a problem with my C#. Trying to create the airstrip with planes heading out of the hangars and on to the road to the airstrip. Each Hangar pannel is connected with closes road to them. What i am stuck with right now is connecting the roads together so each one of them will see if the next road is free and if it is it will send the plane (colorder square for now) to it and then proceed to the next one when finaly they will line up for the final panel(airstrip) and take off.So far they are just going down the each road they are assigned with semaphore and thread.

using System;
using System.Windows.Forms;
using System.Threading;
using System.ComponentModel;
using System.Collections;
using System.Data;
using System.Drawing;

[Code] ....

Connecting the "p2" with "p5" so the graphics from "p1" the square will travel through P2 and P5 this would be great and will allow me to procede with my studies.

Also i do realise that this might not be the best ways of using concurrent Csharp and not the up to date one but this is what i have been assigned with and do not have any other options unfortunately.

How i understand this is that i need to have 3 buffers and 3 semaphores for each panel. But i do not know how to add those to each one of them and then connect it with the next one as if i try and add them it either puts a cross in the design view over that panel or says that there is limited options for this statement.

This is the way that i want to do it unfortunately it must be so. The most flexible this can be is by adding an array for semaphores and buffer ( do not know how to do that either).

C# :: Login Then Close Form And Open Main Form

Aug 25, 2014

This is more of a Application Design question, Let's say I have Form1(Login), this is opened from Program.cs, when the user enters details, the Event Handler makes a instance of a class, adds the data and stores the instance within Program.cs class.

So the best thing to do here, is to close the Form1(Login) and open Form2(Main) via Program.cs so that I can send the List<Login> object with my Login instance objects to said form. This form will remain open throughout the applications use as it's like the main GUI for all the programs functions.

When I close this form, I may want to save some information before the application is terminated, so I may as well store the Login instances in Program.cs anyway.

Main stepping stone: Multiple (usually around 3 max) users can login this system if need be, which will mean closing Form2(Main) and then opening Form1(Login) so that once Form1 is closed it can recreate the From2(Main) form and pass the new List<Login> to that form.

What's the best way to do this, at the moment i'm creating the Form2 instance like so:

//....
//Detect the Login form being closed
loginForm.Closed += new EventHandler(OnLoginClosed);
//...
//Open the main form when the login is closed
private void OnLoginClosed(object sender, EventArgs e)

[Code] .....

This seems like it will work and do the job, but is there a better and cleaner way? The List<Login> will be passed to Forms which are created via Form2(Main) as this information will be needed. It's just that ive been told not to use Forms for too much data containment.

Up till now, in the constructor I created the new array, should I give the array a default value?

Visual C++ :: Repaint On CDockablePane Resizing

Jul 13, 2013

I have a tabbed CDockablePane with 3 Panes in total lets say Pane1 is main pain and Pane2 and Pane3 are added to the Main pain with AttachToTabWnd. In each pain I have 1 control but I will also eventually add a toolbar as well. I have created a CListCtrl with each pane. I call Override OnSize to resize the ListCtrl when the pane resizes. Problem is when I resize the width (enlarge) it does not update. If I drag the right border 1 pixel to the left it does update correctly. I have tried invalidating the pane after resize but still does not update as it should. What can I do to remedy this?

C# :: Sharing Variables From Login Form To Another Form

Mar 10, 2015

I have a form with 2 text boxes (Email and Password)

The user fills in the text boxes and clicks on the Log in button. The code behind the log in button does the following, First connects to a table (Users) in phpmyadmin. Next runs a SQL query (SELECT * FROM `users` WHERE Email = '" + sEmail + "' AND Password = '" + sPassword + "'") sEmail being the variable created from the text entered in Email text box and the same for password.

Next if the record count == to 1 it opens up the main menu form and if the record count == 0 it fails and the user does not get to the main menu.

All of the above is fine and working however what I want to do is take over a variable from the log in form to the other forms.

The code is below for the sign in button as all my code is behind that (I think this may be where I'm going wrong).

public partial class WelcomeForm : Form{
public static string connStr = "server = localhost; " +
"database = ppw5; " +
"uid = James; " +
"pwd = buster;";

[Code] .....

And the Main menu form where I'd like to take a variable over with me, lets assume the variable is the UserID from the database table that I pull from the dTable I created.

public partial class MenuForm : Form {
//Call the CloseProgram class and create a new method called ClassClose.
CloseProgram ClassClose = new CloseProgram();
WelcomeForm User = new WelcomeForm();
public MenuForm() {
InitializeComponent();

[Code] .....

C++ :: Dynamically Resizing Array While Program Is Running?

Feb 4, 2015

I'm working the 4th problem in chapter 14 of the Jumping into C++ book. In the book, he gives an example program for dynamically resizing an array while the program is running. It works fine for integer types but i need to do the same with a string type array. Right now my program is crashing because the string array is not resizing itself. Here's the part of the code im trying to figure out. The part for the int array has been ignored using // since it works fine and I'm trying to figure out whats wrong with the string array.

Code:
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
//Write a program that lets users keep track of the last time they talked to each of their friends.
//Users should be able to add new friends (as many as they want!) and store the number of days ago

C/C++ :: Rectangle Not Resizing Properly - Odd Multiplication Result

May 28, 2014

I'm having some issues understanding why the "rectangle" in the following code isn't resizing properly. Here's the code:

#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
class Rectangle {
public:
Rectangle(double w, double h, double f)
: width(w), height(h), factor(f)

[Code] .....

I tested the code with a simple multiplication factor of "2", which should result in a new width and height of 4, but instead I get an odd value that seems be close to 4.

Output:

Numerically enter the width of the rectangle: 1
Numerically enter the height of the rectangle: 1

The width of the rectangle is: 1
The height of the rectangle is: 1
The area of the rectangle is: 1
The perimeter of the rectangle is: 4

Numerically enter a number to resize the rectangle: 2

The width of the rectangle after resizing is: 2.07408e-317
The height of the rectangle after resizing is: 2.07408e-317

C/C++ :: Insert Number Of Elements From One Into Another Vector Without Resizing

Dec 28, 2012

I think std::copy appears to do what I'm looking for.

I'm in need of a vector member function that would allow me to "insert" a number of elements from one vector into another vector without resizing or destroying either.

An example of what I'm wanting to do is assign the contents of two[3-5][50-54] to one[7-9][2-6]. Other than looping through both vectors using .at(), is there a way to copy this?

This would be continuous within a user controlled loop with differing elements being exchanged.

typedef vector<vector<unsigned char> > vec;
vec one(10, vector<unsigned char>(10, '1')),
    two(90, vector<unsigned char>(90, '2'));

C# :: Calling Method In One Form From Another Form?

Dec 6, 2014

I have a program which when a button is clicked on Form1 it runs a vision system operation on an image in a window on a Form1. There are also other buttons on the Form1 which can change things like threshold levels so the inspection can be run again with different settings. It all works fine but I want to change it to remove the buttons from Form1 so that when the user clicks on a button on Form1 it opens up another form, Form2, and all the buttons which were on Form1 are now on Form2 and the image analysis should run on Form1 when the buttons are used on Form2. I have taken over all the code from Form1 to Form2 and I'm trying to make this happen by creating a new oject on Form1 which calls a method on Form2 which contains the code which was in Form1 and called when the button was clicked on Form1 - not working!! I have a constructor in Form2 but I think I have become monumentally confused.

This was the code which was on Form1 when the inspection button was clicked.

private void cmdInspectOnce_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
iReturn = VisionSystem.InvModeSet(IpeEngCtrlLib.I_MODE.I_EXE_MODE_ONCE);
if (_imgEngines!=null && _imgEngines[0]!=null)
_imgEngines[0].cmdInspectOnce();//InvModeSet(IpeEngCtrlLib.I_MODE.I_EXE_MODE_ONCE);
}
