Write a program that will input the amount of chairs sold for each style. It will print the total dollar sales of each style as well as the total sales of all chairs in fixed point notation with two decimal places.
The program runs fine I am just have problems with the output. I have tried a few different methods for the fixed point notation, but I am getting results like 324.5 rather than 324.50?

It's a tic-tac-toe program. I haven't finished doing everything I need to for the project, I'm just trying to get certain parts working as I go.
Anyway, my problem: The program will print the board and ask the first player which square they want to mark. Then it will print the updated board, print the question for the second player to input their square choice but not actually stop to let the user enter anything. Instead it prints the board again and then prints the question for player one again -- this time stopping to let them type in their choice.
Here's my code:

I'm very new to c programming and I have some background in C# and java. I am supposed to read a string from input then determine in that string, which character is the largest, i.e. I think b>e and e>z, e.t.c. If the string is empty I should return ' '.
I haven't done any programming in C before and I don't know how to handle strings and characters in C.

I am writing code for a program that will take user input selection of columns and determine an array based on that.The number of columns will be user selected.The number of rows equals 3^(columns) <--exponent not XOR
- This is because each column has the possibility of having the numbers 0,1,or 2
For example, if the user were to select "4" columns, then the array would have 4 columns and 3^4=81 rows. Then I would like to populate this with all of the possible combinations of 0,1,2
i.e.

0001
0002
0010
0011
0012
0020
0021
0022
0100

how I would create the "For" Loop for this?

So I have to write a step in my program that reads in up to 8 variables. Simple, but if the User submits an invalid value, I have to give an error message and ask him to re-enter the value until he enters a valid number. Here's my while loop that works perfectly:

Im trying to create a program that has the user input a 5 digit number. If it's between 10000 & 99999, it will do one thing..(just saying 'yes' for now. Outside those numbers will prompt the user to input again. However, if the user inputs the exact digits 76087, it should display 'term'.
This current code is displaying 'term' whenever the user inputs the 5 digits.

I'm trying to write a C++ program that will allow a user to input a number from the keyboard. Then using a loop, that will perform 10 times, multiply the entered number by the loop counter. So my midterm exam for programming is done. My program didn't run. Tried rewriting it once I got home. I am still getting an error that the program could not be run. Also, we weren't allowed to use the internet. So I didn't know how to calculate for the discounted rate.
I am using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.

My program is designed to read input from the user and then store that input in a structure variable. Whenever i use the cin.getline() function, it comes up with a semantic issue. Here is the code:

- 1. It will run both while loops twice...?
- 2. It now goes into a continuous loop.
- 3. When it did work, it would only return 1 value to the main()...?

I'm trying to code a program to read the user's input and have it:
-count vowels
-stop counting vowels after '.' or '?' (ie. abcdjwef is 1 a, 1 e; while fje.fwdfeiii is just 1 e)
-closes when ENTER is pressed after a '.' or '?' is found (ie. closes after 'abacds. ENTER' as well as 'as.fefsdf ENTER')
-display the number of vowels
Is there any way to do this with only 'cin >> userInput' and a while loop checking for punctuation?

I was wondering what function was the C++ equivalent for testing to see if a user input is numeric.
I have equivalents in Ruby, Java, Python, VB, VBA, php, but being a novice in C++, I have yet to find one - even with Google.
And I know C++ is such a wonderful language, that its extensive library must have one somewhere - considering it's already 2013!

The problem states that i need to accept any pin number between "00000" and "99999". I need to read the PIN the user enters as an integer. The problem is that if the PIN is read as an integer, the PIN "01111" will be "1111" which is invalid and the pin "00001" would be read as "1" which is also invalid. How would I go about fixing this problem for PIN numbers that start with a "0"? Again I cannot read the PIN as a char array or string.

I have to create a program that incorporates an array of structures in order to simply read input from the user and then reprint that information to the screen. This is a fairly simple problem, but the issue is that the professor requires that we solve it in a very specific way.
I must have three functions in total: one to receive input from the user, one to print the received values, and of course the main function which calls the other two. Also, the input and output functions must be defined using the following prototypes:

Where Component is a structure defined above as:

I know that this problem could be easily solved by simply passing the entire 'comp' array to the inputData function, or passing a pointer to it, or having it return a pointer, but I am not allowed to do any of these things. I must use the function as defined by the prototype.
