I have a code in which I am passing string "5368709120" to function strtoull() and it should had returned me number 5368709120 but instead it returns me 1073741824 which is incorrect.
What may be the possible cause of this and how to rectify it?

I have been assigned the following task and I am having difficulty in getting it to compile. The compiler is stopping at line 27 but I don't no what the error is.

I'm trying to move a dictionary into a group of bite-sized files based off of the length of the strings in each file (I'm ignoring strings of length 1 for obvious reasons). Since I don't know what the longest word is (and I'm not going to look for it), and I don't want redundant files, I decided to use a vector of output file streams that I would put all the words into, but I can't get the file to open.
I took a look at it and found the failbit is 1, but the badbit is 0, so apparently it's a logic error on opening the stream [URL] .... I looked online and decided to try using pointers, but that didn't work either, so now I'm asking what the problem might be, because I can't think of any reason why it isn't working.

All the undos and redos were working fine until the pointer data members came into the picture. The problem is that the values pointed to changed, but the pointers themselves did not. So restoring gives the same pointers but they still point to the new values. I think the solution is that the classes that are the pointer data members themselves need their own Mementos (which would be a lot of work because there are many data member pointers in my program). Is that the only approach?

I have a C++ code that reads the database password from the registry and decrypts it using CryptUnprotectData. We have to deploy this application on a Windows 7 machine.
When I compile my code on Windows XP and run it on the test Windows 7 machine, it works absolutely fine. When I compile the same code on my laptop having Windows 7 and run it on the test Windows 7 machine, CryptUnprotectData fails with GetLastError() return '87'. If I run this application on my own laptop with Windows 7 on it, it again works fine probably because my laptop has a lot of things installed including Visual Studio and all the service packs etc.
I believe I have missed out installing some dependency on the test Windows 7 machine but I am unable to figure out what is that. What is it that's making the Windows XP compiled code running fine on the test machine and not the code that's compiled on Windows 7.

I have program where i have to check to see if file exist, if it does not then it needs to be created. SO I have a read file that works fine, if th efile exist it reads whats in it, if it does it says the file does not exist. Now Im trying to creata function that creates the file if it doesnt exist. so in my read function when the person enters the name of the file to be checked for..I pass that name to a variable called name..Hoping that I could then pass it into my create file function if it does not exist..and use that variable to pass the name they entered into the createfile array..called filename.. but I am having trouble because i get error when i try to pass from a string name to char array.. even when I change the varialbe name to char, or char [256] it will not work.. I try to fing a way to convert th string to a char using the strncopy function but still no dice..here the code i have for the createfile funciton

I am doing an project in SDI. I have two functions name sendtext(CString str) and displaytext(CString inr) both in different class. I have a pointer name pView to send the string str to function "displaytext". The problem is after some operations i get a text in str and i send that text to display text in the output screen i get the text and wen the second text comes to "displaytext" the former text disappears and the latest string only present. How can i display both the text in the output window on ClistCtrl class.

I am trying to pass function as argument to another function. My idea is to write function that can works with any type of array, and for it to be able to compare array items I'd like to use my own compareTo function. But I need to be able to pass function to use for comparing argument.
To say it short I am trying to write my own qsort that would take compareTo as one argument just like original qsort does.

I can print these out.

I need to pass a file as a parameter to the get_corners function, and then fill an array with an unknown quantity of data, and return the number of data to main.
Compiling this generates some messages about unused variables, which is fine for this incomplete code.
Running it just generates a blank screen. So that obviously needs to be fixed. What am I doing wrong?
I have tried moving fpin = fopen ("c: emphw12.txt","r"); to the main function, then function call to get_corners, and then closing the file after return, but same blank screen.
