I am new to c++ and have started creating a dummy program to perform a simple task of writing a few strings to the console, which are first generated using random generation. When I execute the code, an extra line for each generated object appears in the console.

I am writing this program that is supposed to read a file, put the data into an array, alphabetize, count how many times each word appears and print to an output function. I posted before on how my program had an error when I ran it but I have fixed that. Now my outputArray file is empty. It gets created but there's nothing in it.

I am writing a c++ program in Linux.. I am reading a line from commandline at run time using "getline(std::cin,str);". now, what i want is if i left the commandline as idle (terminal as idle), then i want to know that the commandline is empty... is it possible ???

I have a more complicated program I'm wishing to have display the output, however, to save some time I'm using an example of a shorter version. count the lines in input and display the output in terminal when ./program is executed after compilation. To count and compute lines, words and within arrays.
How can i display a string per line on the .txt i made? There are 2 .txt files, the one has: John Finn Xach The other is: password1 password2 password3 Question is: How can i display, let's say, i input "John" so it will display something like this "John's password is password1" or if i input Xach, "Xach's password is password3" When i use something like :

It iterates the username but not the password.

I have a .txt file that contains, together with a few characters, columns of values that I want to save in different files like is written in the program (file 1, file2, file3 - a with x, b with y, c with z). The pattern of the source text file is like this:

Until now I could manage to split the files, but the output gives me only zeros. First the program count the number of lines of the read text file, then it should display the desired columns of double values in three other .txt files.I've got for the three .txt files columns like this:

I'm trying to code a program to read the user's input and have it:
-count vowels
-stop counting vowels after '.' or '?' (ie. abcdjwef is 1 a, 1 e; while fje.fwdfeiii is just 1 e)
-closes when ENTER is pressed after a '.' or '?' is found (ie. closes after 'abacds. ENTER' as well as 'as.fefsdf ENTER')
-display the number of vowels
Is there any way to do this with only 'cin >> userInput' and a while loop checking for punctuation?
A file is created but its empty. And when I first create an entry and then display all the entries, it does nothing.

In the main, i pass real string array "asocijacije" in function which i use in it, and when i use it after this fun. i get an empty array. Its like it didnt happend and i cant see where i went wrong.

I wrote this code to search words in the file and display if the program found the word or not. when i write the words in the file on the same line (without the endl) like this :

i can search any word.
but when i write them with the endl, the program can find only the first word. what can i do to make the program find any word even if they are each on a line?

I'm having a problem filling a vector from a file. Basically, it is adding an empty element at the end. I'm new to Qt and haven't worked with file streams much so how to stop the stream before it adds the extra element.

I have it set to append at the moment so that is why the first line is repeated. I figure the problem is with if(in.atEnd()). I could fix it by deleting the last element right after adding it, but that seems like more of a hack than anything else.
