Visual C++ :: Out Of Memory And Driver Could Not Be Loaded Due To System Error 8
Jan 21, 2013
I am getting "driver could not be loaded due to system error 8" error while connecting to SQL Server 2005 from VC++. Its also throwing out of memory error. Basically i am developing and ISAPI dll. I use the following code to connect to DB.
CDatabase DBConnection;
if(! DBConnection.IsOpen()) {
DBConnection.OpenEx("Driver={SQL Server};Server=10.120.110.30;Database=Test;Trusted_Connection=yes;", CDatabase:penReadOnly | CDatabase::noOdbcDialog);
[Code] .....
for CDatabaseConnection, i can see 2 different method to open the connection, OpenEx and Open. Whats the difference between OpenEx and Open?

I have two projects (Projects A and B). Project A is a dll project, defining a function called "regex".
Project B dynamically loads this DLL, and calls Project A's "regex" function via LoadLibrary/GetProcAddress.
Regex takes a pointer to an std::vector (std::vector<std::cmatch>).
When debugging ProjectB, I can see that, within the code from ProjectA (in the "regex" call), a loop that loops through the elements of the vector outputs all the elements in the vector to console as expected. But the loop in ProjectB ( which executes after ProjectA), which also loops through the vector, and, is supposed to output the elements of the vector, outputs empty strings, not, as I would expect, the same strings (which contain results), as in the loop in Project A.
How is this happening. Does this have anything to do with it being a DLL, and, maybe, somehow values/memory addresses (or something similar) of the vector/its elements being destructed across the Projects/Dlls?
Output and Code See Below:
Output Loop in A:

Output Loop in B: (empty) (i.e. none)
Project A DLL Header (interface.h):

#include <vector>
#include <regex>

I wrote a program that use a struct to represent an athlete. The program allocates memory for an array of 5 Athletes, and, soon after I enter the fourth data (height) for the first athlete, I get the message "runtime Error R6002 - floating point support not loaded". The program doesn't reach the line where __LINE__ would be printed.
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
typedef struct athlete {

char sport[ 100 ];

I'm am having a few issues with this program, they stem from passing the color.h and .cpp into another .h and .cpp, and frankly getting how those two things really fit together.
For this problem, you will design and implement 2 classes and then write a driver function to test these classes. The first will be a C++ class for an abstract data type color with a public enumeration type colorType that has the color values shown in Listing 10.8. Your abstract data type should have an attribute for storing a single value of type colortype and member functions for reading (readColor) and writing (writeColor) a color value as well as setting and accessing it. The function readColor should read a color as a string and store the corresponding color value in the value attribute of a type color object. The function writeColor should display as a string the value stored in the value attribute of a type color object (see Figure 7.5). Modify class circle and the driver function in Listing 10.9 to include and use this class. You'll need to remove the declaration for color in class circle. Test your modified driver function with the new color and circle classes.
The second class will be to design and implement a rectangle class similar to class circle. Be sure to incorporate the new color class you have written and tested in the first part of the programming exercise. Write a client program that asks the user to enter a shape name (circle or rectangle) and then asks the user for the necessary data for an object of that class. The program should create the object and display all its attributes.
The circle class .h and .cpp files as well as the original driver function will be supplied. You are to provide the .h and .cpp files for the new color class and the modified driver function as well as the .h and .cpp files for the rectangle class and the client program that uses all three classes.
color.h
Code:
//color.h
//Color class definition
#include "stdafx.h"
#ifndef COLOR_H
[Code].....

If you're writing a .dll you can prevent that dll from getting loaded into some processes by returning false from the dllmain.
I'm looking for a way to do it the other ay around. I have an exe, and I want to prevent a certain hook dll from getting loaded/injected into my exe.
A customer is running some software which loads a hook dll into our exe, and this is subsequently preventing our application from running as intended. Both our software as well as the third party app is required, and there is no way to get the third party dll changed. (no longer supported).

I am writing a very basic database in C++ and I am accessing the data from a web browser. I am using the opensource Mongoose web server code....
I have an issue...
The way the DB works is this: on starting, the DB loads a json file of all of the data into it. I have a class called DatabaseLoader that does this - it is the class that gets rewritten depending on the data structure of the json.
This is passed to vectors (vector<Node*> and vector<Edge*>) as references from Graph object.
Once the DatabaseLoader has finished it can be destroyed and any memory allocated objects it created (except the ones in those two vectors).
From then on, the Graph object is in charge of all of the elements in the database that are stored in the two vectors. When the user browses to htpp://127.0.0.1:8000 they see the json representing each object in the vectors.
All good so far....
However, when I repeatedly hit refresh in my browser (and call me insane...) at quite a fast speed I get this error:
Code:
main(29855,0x7fff76763310) malloc: *** error for object 0x7f98b2829408: incorrect checksum for freed object - object was probably modified after being freed.
*** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug
[1] 29855 abort ./main testing.json
It seems to me this would be if I tried to "delete" and object twice, or if one of my objects was overwriting memory somewhere. However I am not recreating anything, I am just looping over the vectors and printing out the content. When I refresh slowly, I dont see this happen - i did it quite a lot of times, but when I do it fast I think it is happening.
So is there any possibility of me hitting the c++ web server to quickly and it is trying to process the data twice, causing some sort of memory error - i.e do I need to implement threading or something??
I can paste code, but there is quite a lot now....

So using InitiateSystemShutdownEx causes a Win32 machine to go log off go to the shutdown screen and just sit there displaying shutting down with the working indicator just spinning. I left the machine sitting there for an hour and it never shut down. This works fine on all the Win7 x64 machines we are using but the one 32 bit Win7 machine has this problem and it occurs no matter what parameters I pass.
Code:
HANDLE hToken;
TOKEN_PRIVILEGES tkp;
// Get a token for this process.
if (!OpenProcessToken(GetCurrentProcess(),
TOKEN_ADJUST_PRIVILEGES | TOKEN_QUERY, &hToken))
return false ;
// Get the LUID for the shutdown privilege.
LookupPrivilegeValue(NULL, SE_SHUTDOWN_NAME,
&tkp.Privileges[0].Luid);
[code]....
This is working fine on Win7 x64 but not on the one Win7 32 system we have and like I said it starts the shutdown process just never finishes.

I am drawing in a simple (square) MFC window. I realize that (0,0) starts in the upper left hand corner. I wanted to see how MFC handled drawing of angles, so I use this code:
Code:
double CompassDegreesToRadians(double compassDegrees) {
return((PI / 2.0f) - (compassDegrees * PI / 180.0f));
}
// Make pen
CPen penRed;
penRed.CreatePen(PS_SOLID | PS_COSMETIC, 1, RGB(255, 0, 0));
// Test Angles
[Code] .....
Using this code, and changing the value of angle1 to these values (0, 90, 180, 270) I think MFC uses the coordinate system:
Code:
180 -y
|
|
-x 270---------------- 90 +x
|
|
0 +y
This seems like a strange coordinate system to use. Am I doing something wrong? If this is correct, how can I convert my calculations to this coordinate system? (compass degrees):
Code:
0 +y
|
|
-x 270---------------- 90 +x
|
|
180 -y

I wish to add the item 'Website' to an MFC Dialog app System Menu so that it can activate the following method:
Code:
void CMyDlg::OnWebpage()
{
ShellExecute( NULL, NULL, _T("[URL]..."), NULL, NULL, 0 );
}// OnWebpage()
I have tried this:
Code:
#define IDM_WEBSITE (WM_USER + 101)
//..
if (!strAboutMenu.IsEmpty())
{
pSysMenu->AppendMenu(MF_SEPARATOR);
pSysMenu->AppendMenu(MF_STRING, IDM_ABOUTBOX, strAboutMenu);
pSysMenu->AppendMenuW(MF_STRING, IDM_WEBSITE, _T("Website"));
}
[Code]...
The code compiles without error but and the 'website' item appears on the System Menu but it doesnt do anything.
I've inspected the following but don't really understand how it works and it seems to me there should be a simpler way to accomplish my end.

char *text1 = ""A SpaceAction.bat" fred";
char *text2 = ""A SpaceAction.bat" "fred"";
int main(int argc, char *argv[]) {
printf("%s

[Code] .....
When I run it where "A Space" is a directory with a space in the name, this is the result:
Code:
"A SpaceAction.bat" fred
F:Test>echo Testing
Testing
"A SpaceAction.bat" "fred"
'A' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
It seems that the double quotes round an argument make the parsing of the command fail.

I need make a CBitmap or a streamdata from a System.Windows.Controls::Image(rendered out put)in a SDI mfc application (supporting clr). Here is my codes:
Code:
using namespace System;
using namespace System::IO;
using namespace System::Collections::Generic;
using namespace System::Windows;
using namespace System::Windows::Controls;
[Code] .....
By this codes i can read datastream from bitmapSource but in this way somthing goes wrong in most of GIF animations. After debug i found out i need 3 more things too decode a gif animation - (x,y) position and size of each frame and disposal method for each one - finally i just found a way to draw tru images on a form window by this codes:
Code:
System::Windows::Window^ mainWindow;
mainWindow = gcnew System::Windows::Window();
mainWindow->Title = "GIF Imaging Sample";
//ScrollViewer^ mySV = gcnew ScrollViewer();
array<System::Byte>^ pixels = gcnew array<System::Byte>(bitmapSource->PixelHeight * Stride);
[Code] ...
When i change
Code: bitmapSource = decoder->Frames[0];
to
Code: bitmapSource = decoder->Frames[01];
frame[1] has drawn perfectly on window(i think some how Image class takes care about - (x,y) position and size of each frame and disposal method for each one ),so im wonder if how can i make a CBitmap or a data stream from System.Windows.Controls::Image class to use in mfc app.
