This creates quite a mess. It seems that somehow the "vector" declaration isn't working as the referenced web link seems to suggest that it should. I presume that, as usual, clearing one real error will eliminate the cascade of errors the first real error produces. Why won't VC++ accept the "vector" identifier?

I have a fundamental question due to my lack of understanding how arrays work.Let say I have a character array (byte array).
1. do array elements have memory adresses? i guess not but ....
2. if yes is it possible to switch two array positions? For examle:
a[x] change with a[y] for x,y < |a|
as oppose to changing values assigned to individual array positions.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor an assignment I have to create a random array of four integers, and then I have to allow someone to input up to ten guesses to guess the array in the correct order. I also need to be able to display whatever was generated by inputting -1. Finally, after every guess I have to tell the inputter how many of the guessed integers are correct and in the correct position, as well as how many integers are correct but not in the correct position.
So far I've been able to get the random array to generate properly, but inputting negative one has no effect, although if I input it four times in a row I get to my 'lose' condition. Also, it only seems to allow the user to input 4 guesses and not 10 before going straight to the 'lose' condition. I need to get these issues sorted out before I can move on to showing how many guesses are right etc....

I am trying to create a code to sort an array of integer, but only between two positions of the array, not the all array.
like this:
array: 1 2 5 4 7 2 9 8
index: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
i want to sort the array per exemple between the the index 2 and 5.the result is... array: 1 2 2 4 5 7 9 8

I have heard about the hashset but I do not fully understand how that thing works or if it is the best option for this issue.
Basically I have 3 lists: LIST1, LIST2 and LIST3.
LIST1 is a set of xyz points and LIST2 shows how the points are connected (clockwise, counter clockwise, coolinear).
For example the fact that in the first line of LIST2 appears 0, 1, 2,-1 means that the points in LIST1 are connected as follows:
(0 0 128.588459085565)->(25 0 134.979628462965)->(0 0 134.979628462965)
Same for line2 of LIST2: 1, 4, 2,-1
(25 0 134.979628462965)->(25 0 140.100717207301)->(0 0 134.979628462965)
etc...
The value -1 at the end of each line does not mean anything but I need to keep it.
Finally LIST3 tells me if the points are connected counterclockwise (-1), clockwise (1), or coolinear (0).
The thing is that I want to get things as follows:
If the values of list 3=1 then I need to extract all the points in the list 1 that correspond to the value 1 in order. However the values in LIST2 cannot keep being 1, 4, 2,-1 they need to be reorganised starting by zero. Expected result in LIST2= 0,3,1,-1.
We need to do this for each value in list3 (1,-1 and 0).
The idea is to get 3 groups of values:
- Group 1 including all the values that are clockwise (list3) with the points in order in list1 and showing connections starting from zero on in list2.
- Group 2 including all the values that are counterclockwise (list3) with the points in order in list1 and showing connections starting from zero on in list2.
- Group 3 including all the values that are coolinear (list3) with the points in order in list1 and showing connections starting from zero on in list2.
The idea is to be able to print 3 files in the following way:
FILE1:
Points which are clockwise in LIST 1
...
Connections of those points in LIST 2
...
FILE2:
Points which are counterclockwise in LIST 1

I tried to use its OnSize-function. The problem with it is to get the new height. When the function is called, the height I get from GetWindowRect is the old height.
Is there a better function than OnSize() ?

I am having trouble with a program that queries the user for a noun and forms its plural on the basis of these rules:

I wrote a program to find the minimum and the maximum values from a vector. It works fine. What I'm trying to do is show the positions of said values and it's not working quite right. When I insert 4 elements: 2 0 1 3 it says:

My code has been acting odd. I made a function that layers my art resources but only the last tile of my art resource acts the way it should. My character goes behind and in front of the last tile and gets printed correctly. Strangely its really exclusive to the last tiles I print. What I need is to figure out in step by step order what going on with my code sample below and be able to layer the resources.
