C# :: User Writing A Method During Runtime

I'm doing a project. And I want to give the user the ability to write methods just like you would regularly in c# during runtime and then use them during runtime. Is such thing even possible? If so how?!

C/C++ :: Creating Constant At Runtime With User Entered Value?

Aug 14, 2014

At the moment I am making program that will use a 2d selection of "cells" to make a "map" of sorts. However, the size will not be known until run time.

I figured using an array would good, because once the size is chosen it won't be changed. However I can't create an array without using a constant.

So the first question is, can I create a constant at run-time with a user entered value that can then be used for an array size? If so, how?

Otherwise, what are my options to achieve this? I know vectors can be used, but A, my compiler keeps giving me problems even when C&P some code bits (yes I even remembered to #include and such) and B, I noticed that vectors reserve extra memory for when the size changes but this is bad (well my dinky little program won't notice, but trying to set good habits as I learn, so I'm keeping it in mind) as I don't need and don't want to allow the size to change after creation.

Which leads to number three, if I do have to use vectors, how can I prevent any accidental size changes after the initial size is determined?

C++ :: File Stream And String Extraction?

Apr 7, 2014

I am currently trying to read in a file that takes in the input in the following form.

Code:
HANK>25 BOB>31 AL>54
BILL>41 ABE>63 JEFF>50

I have tried the following solution:

Code:
#include<ifstream>
#include<iostream>
using namespace std;
struct node
{
string name;
int age;
);
int main ()
{

[code]....

The problem is a.name, it's extracting the entire string before the space character causing p.age to contain "BOB" and so on. I've tried using p.get(p.name, sizeof(p.name), '-') with '-' as the delimiter and p.getline() using a character array instead of a string. How would it be possible to only copy the string into a.name before the '>' character?

I know that I could use popen() to open a Unix pipe and call g++ as command line tool. But first it isn't really cross platform and second it doesn't seem elegant to me.

C++ :: Constructors / Classes For Expression Tree Program

May 7, 2012

Previously I made a infix postfix calculator with integers only using structures, which had only three files

1.main.cpp,
2.arithmetic_expression.cpp
3.arithmetic expression.h,

I manged eventually to bring it together. now there are 5 files which are using classes, constructors and destructors and there can be letters in the expression that can have assigned values. Newnode, struct node and all that fine and dandy stuff made sense, this doesn't. What needs to be done in those empty functions in arethmetic_expression.cpp? It was going well until I reached createxpressiontree{ in th arithemetic_expression.cpp and those constructors in there. At that point I missed my structures and was totally confused by the constructors. I know constructors are supposed to create objects, but then I dont know what i am creating the object for and what that object is supposed to do.

1.main.cpp
2.arithmetic_expression.cpp
3.tree.cpp
4.arithmetic_expression.h
5.tree.h

Main.cpp

Code:

#include <iostream>
#include <string>
#include <vector>
#include "arithmetic_expression.h"
#include <map>
int main() {
// arithmetic_expression expression1;
// Testing the RPN input

Write a program that evaluates postfix expression using array implementation of stack.

When the element read from the expression is an operand, push it into the stack.When the element read from the expression is an operator: Pop two operands from the stack.Evaluate the two operandsPush the result of the evaluation into the stack.

C :: Exponent Program - Expression Evaluates To A Function Which Is Missing Argument List

Dec 15, 2013

I am new to C programming and I am trying to compile and run an exponent program my instructor posted for us but it is giving me an error saying:

Warning c4550: expression evaluates to a function which is missing an argument list.

Why this is happening (she doesn't seem to find anything wrong with the code). From what I could gather there is some issue with the math but idk. It is supposed to prompt for the number and the exponent to raise it to, then calculate and output the result.

Code:
#include <stdio.h>
int main() {
int base, exp;
long long int value=1;

C++ :: Program That Will Allow A User To Input Their First Name Into A String

Feb 23, 2015

So we have a weekend assignment that is "Write a c++ program that will allow a user to input their first name into a string, and use the switch/case statement to produce the following output. Your Program should prompt the use rwith the numbers and the options for each (school, classification, and mood) allowing them to make a choice"

My issue is with the output. The output at the end is the number that they input and not the name of the case they chose, so if they chose option 1 for school it does not print out "BRCC" at the end for the output it prints a 1.

#include <iostream>
#include <string>

int main(void) {
string name;

It seems when I try to pass values from the array to my toUpper function to capitalize it it doesn't seem to work right.

C++ :: Program Skips Over User Input?

Dec 6, 2014

I am so close to finishing this program of games, but I'm running into some issues while debugging it.

I've attached the google drive folder since there are several files (ignore the ones with [conflict], etc)...

First, I have the main menu using a switch to select the game. The default was set to exit. If initially when immediately opening the program you put in for say, a letter, it would exit like its supposed to. But if you went and played any of the games ], went back to the main screen, and entered a letter then, it would crash. I've put in a testing line to make sure that you enter a number, and not anything else.

Now however, if you play a game and then want to go back to the main menu, it will simply skip over waiting for your response and close the program. The same thing happens in the slot machine, I want to have it spin the slot machine by pressing enter, but it simply skips over the input, and I'm not sure why.

C++ :: How To Allow User Input To Exit The Program

For example :

What would I need to put in between those brackets under the if statement to allow the user to enter the letter D and it would close out the program?

Visual C++ :: Switch From TXT To RTF During Runtime

May 2, 2015

While running a Doc/View SDI, is there any way to switch from text mode to rtf mode during runtime? Search reveals nothing.

Say I have an editor and I want the app to use text, I can set the ctor as follows.

Code:

CEditorDoc::CEditorDoc() {
// TODO: add one-time construction code here
m_bRTF = FALSE;
}

But once I've done that and compiled the app, while it's running, is there a way for the user (or programmer) to change the mode back to RTF? One solution that occurred to me is to use 2 document classes, but that's a hassle.
