C# :: Create Search Button That Will Select Row Inside Datagridview
Feb 10, 2014
I am trying to create a search button that will select my row inside my datagridview when I search the value in my textbox1 (example of the value: DR00001, DR00002, etc.). I notice when there are a few entries (say about 15-20), everything works great. When the database gets larger, the search feature doesnt seem to work. Below is a sample of my code. toolStripButton1_Click_1 is the button I am using to search my textbox.
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.ComponentModel;
using System.Data;
I have the following code. I am able to call data from my database and print the result onto datagridview. However, if I happen to edit some data through datagridview, I would like it to save the changes by clicking a save button. I do not know how to connect callDBButton_Click and saveButton_Click...I know how to update the changes if I just put adapter.Update(dataTable); at the end of the callDBButton_Click method...but I want to it only save changes when I CLICK the "Save" Button.
I am working with repeater.. Actually i have placed a linkbtn in item template.. In that linkbtn i am displaying names from database.... And i have created an event for the lnkbtn.. In that event i want to get the text property of linkbtn....
Basically, the program is just sort of a soundboard. The way it is now, it just reads all the names of the files in a particular folder (all .wav files), and then adds an entry to a listBox for each file found. What I would like to do, is instead of a listBox, have buttons for each one. Is there any way to iterate through a list of items and create a button for each one? The main problem I see is placing the buttons. It would have to have some sort of grid to place them in I would imagine...
im tasked with creating a linear search script using functions on a 10 element array. the elements are to be supplied by the user as is the search target.
I understand how to create the array and gather that information from the user as well as howto set a variable for "target", this is what im calling it. Those two parts are simple enough.
I am not fully understanding the calling of an array in a function as a pointer. i semi understand the use of a pointer and howto call a normal pointer in a function. i also understand that an array is nothing more then a "special" pointer with a set of consecutive address blocks for the size of the array.
My first user defined function is simple enough
Code: ReadArray(int A[], int size){ int i; printf("Please enter %d integer numbers separated by spaces: ", size); for (i = 0; i < size; i++) scanf("%d", &A[i]); }
Sso nothing out of the ordinary there. that should be a standard for loop and use of scanf, sadly prof has not covered ssanf or any of the other options so i am stuck using scanf for now. maybe someday down the line in a other program or after this course ill get the chance to learn about better options for gathering data from the user.
I am confused as to my next function:
Code: void SearchArray(int A[], int target, int size);
I've not written any code here yet as im not sure if i should call the A[], or *A for the first type of the function?
If i call *A do i then use something like this for my search:
Code: for (*A = 0; *A < size; *A++) if (*A < target) or use A[] insteadA?
Code: for (i = 0; i < size; i++) if (A[i] = target)
I am currently using Flash. Here are two images I will be referring through without this post:
1: [URL] ....
2: [URL] ....
So basically, when I click the generate buttonon the first image it takes you to the second image. What I want is when I click the generate button it comes to this screen, aswell as choose a random word from each list that I will make (Who List, What List, When List, Where List, and Why List) and place the word next to its position. When you click New Idea I want it to also generate another set of random words from the lists. How can I do this?
For my data-structures class, I am attempting to create a binary search tree template to be used to create an AVL tree. I've written a Generic_Tree template for the BST to inherit from, and before I jump into implementing the AVL tree I'm testing the BST member functions. Everything was compiling fine until I added the BST insert() function. Now, I'm getting the following error message from my linker:
undefined reference to 'BST<void>::insert(int, void*)'
So the plan is to create a word search by reading in characters from a file into an array. This is my code so far, nowhere near finished but have encountered a problem already:
My question is to do with the section highlighted in red... I can't really see why it is not printing out my array (wordsearch), it's probably very basic but I have no C experience so am not too confident in what I'm doing.
I have a non form class. I want to update label/ check status of check box etc.. in non form class ( here resides functions that contains logic). How can i do that ?
I am trying to implement a Task scheduler where i have n number of tasks. The Idea behind my task scheduler is that in a loop of queues of a vector, task should get enqueued to the shortest queue among the loop of queues, which is done by the following code.
#include <vector> #include <queue> std::vector<std::queue<int> > q int min_index = 0; task t // implemented in the other part of the program
[Code] ....
Next i am trying to extend this paradigm to reduce the overhead time of the scheduler, Instead of searching the shortest queue every time, search after some condition ie. search the shortest queue after 5 tasks gets enqueued to the shortest queue.
i need to do something like this
#include <vector> #include <queue> std::vector<std::queue<int> > q task t // implemented in the other part of the program while(q[min_index].size()!=q[min_index].size()+5) // check whether current min_index queue's size is increased 5 more times if not goto enqueue
inputting a search array. I tried putting a binary search but I can't get it to work. everything else works up until I put the value I am searching for in the array, then it just crashes.
How it suppose to work: input 2 coordinates with a value each then it calculates the distance between them then it suppose to let user search the coordinates for a value and state if found which coordinate it is at.
I just started on a project on c++ and I was wondering if it is possible to add a select option (where the c++ program requires the user to select an option) . I couldn't find this anywhere.
I am trying to write a program for a multiuser chat. I am trying to use select() function but I still cannot use the server for multiusers. I am able to access only one client at a time. I am running the code in Windows 7 using Visual Studio's Command Prompt. Here is the server code.
I know that where I have the intIndex++ line is wrong. It's just going to stop at the last index and call it good, but I don't know how to make it stop at the matching name. The only examples I can ever seem to find use the foreach loop to print out a value, and I'm clearly just not understanding this enough to make it work for me.
Instructions are: --Declare a variable to store the result of the search, int intIndex; --Use an if statement with the Contains method to check if the name in the search box is in the queue. --If Contains is true, initialize intIndex to zero and use a foreach to walk through queue, else display a message that the name is not in the list. --If a match is found use intIndex to select the matching entry in listbox and display a message indicating the name was found. Be sure to increment intIndex each time through the loop.
private void btnSearchByName_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { //delcare int variable to use as the index for the list box int intIndex; //If Contains is true if (cstrName.Contains(txtSearchName.Text))
I am trying to select 3 questions randomly from a string array and create another array with the randomly selected questions then display them in labels.
As you can see in the code I have used Array.Clear method to remove the selected question from the array to prevent duplicate questions being selected. For some reason this is not working! The "Randomly" selected question is ALWAYS the 5th element [4] of the randomQuestions array and this element is duplicated for each iteration of the loop.
public void shuffleQuestions() { string questionselected; string[] randomQuestions = { "What is the speed limit from the time you pass an Accident sign until you have passed the crash site?", "What must you do at a red traffic light?", "What is the maximum possible speed limit on the open road?",
I have been working on my own custom web browser. If i insert a web browser in my tab control and name it i can easily just go webbrowser1.Navigate() in my button click to use the webbrowser methods.
I made a method CreateTab and it automatically adds a web browser to my tab along with a default web page. My problem is selecting this webbrowser in other button clicks so i can call Home, Back, forward, etc.
Here is me method for creating a tab.
private void CreateTabItem() { //create a new tab TabItem item = new TabItem(); item.Header = "Fitness" + i ; WebBrowser browser = new WebBrowser(); //browser.Name = "Website";
I'm having issues with selecting the next item in sequence in a combobox dropdown. The dropdown consists of letters A-Z and there is a timer that I have running to change the letter every x minutes. What I need to do is if, for example, letter A is selected, when the timer goes off, it will change to letter B, etc. If it's at letter Z, it needs to go back to the first item, letter A.
