C Sharp :: Compare Date In Registry With Local Time?
Feb 2, 2013The first time my application opens up, it should get the local date out of the System and store this in a registry key. But the second time it should get the date stored in that registryKey and compare it to the date right now.And there is where I am stuck, I just don't know how to get the date out of that key and compare it to the date right now.
This is my code:

Aug 6, 2012In my class I'm trying to display the elapsed time as my label on a windows form. I've been reading up on all the different articles online and have tried these three methods all with the same result:
1. Using the System.Timers class
2. Built in Timer sub-class
3. Defining directly inside of my class the StartTime, etc. variables.
All of these still result in the following error:
Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'User_Interface' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on.
Currently, my windows form is being called by another class, but I'm not sure if this is the cause of the problem.
This is a sample of the code that I'm currently using to show the elapsed time:

Dec 30, 2014I am doing a school project. The project basically is that it records the in and out time of an employee(of an particular company).The employee while checking in or out should enter a unique key generated specially for him so that no one else can check in and out for him.Then referring to the employees position( A worker or a manager or something like that) his total working time each day , for a week and a month is calculated. The company starts at 8 am and ends at 5 pm for 1st shift and for second shift from 3.30 pm to 2.30 am. Plus Saturday and Sunday off. Then after a month the program refers to the working time date stored in a file and calculates his pay(For workers its per hour salary and for managers it aint).
If an employee is consistently late the details are forwarded to the HR account( so that necessary steps are taken).This will support the company log the details of their employees duty time plus give enough detail to take action if someones always late. I'm doing this as a school project and it needn't be of enterprise class and all.. But i want the coding to perform as it should. Also i'm forced to use the old Turbo C++. Now i'm struck in the place where the time of the employees in and out time is logged. This coding does the work

Jan 20, 2013I am writing a C++ program which takes date & time input from the user. This is then parsed into a struct such as:

My question is: how can I convert such a struct into a time_t object, which is an unsigned long giving the time as the number of seconds elapsed since the epoch Jan 1st 1970, 00:00, as set out in time.h.
I am wondering if this can be achieved using the standard library, or whether I just need to write a function to perform the appropriate arithmetic.

When I copied the variables out of the first one and into the new smaller file (same solution), everything compiles fine but I get a ton of linker errors saying the variables have already been defined in another (the previous) file. C/C++ :: Creating / Using GUI With Visual Studio 2013
Jan 24, 2015How to create/use a graphical interface. Especially since Microsoft has removed Windows Form Application support from Visual Studio 2012 and 2013.
I know that Windows Form Application is still supported with C#, but C# is definitely not an option as the program I am developing is heavily depended on some of C++'s more advanced features not present in C#.
Is there an alternative to Windows Form Application? I would definitely prefer one, as I doubt that some workarounds would work for long. What are common ways to create a GUI application in C++? There certainly must be some ways. In Java one would use something like JFrame.
Crossplattformcompatibility: The program I am creating is a Microsoft Windows program only. So I don't care if it runs on Linux or Mac. It only has to run from Windows 7 onward. So if there are more than one standard ways to create a GUI, I would prefer the one working best for Windows.
By the way, I am using Visual Studio 2013.
