C++ :: Extension DLL Callback Function Used For A Windows Service And Write To File
Oct 11, 2014I have a problem with an extension DLL that has an exported function. The function is being exported ok, it is called by a Windows service. The Windows service is using the exported function, and everything works. I am trying to create a file with:

file.open("C:dir ofile", ios:ut);
file << "text";
But nothing happnes however. There are no errors, the file is just not created. Also, if i try to call MessageBox() in the exported function, nothing happens as well . I have a .h file which exports the function with __declspec(dllexport) DWORD WINAPI functionName(), and also a .cpp file with the function definition. There is no main().

Dec 26, 2013I am trying to copy files, but the windows + compiler gods will not submit easily today. In my code below I get the sysdirectory + the file I want to copy with:

my tmpfilename prints exactly where I want it to go and my debug prints out an error 5 which is an access denied error. I was looking at the system("copy") function, but I don't think I would be able to use my pathnames. From what it looks like I would have to hardcode in like "copy C:windowssystem32".

Besides, I would like to know which is the best way to TEST errors in this kind of memories.
I am using NetBeans 7.3.1 for writting the code and Cygwin running on Windows XP Virtual Machine. The Memory Flash (S29JL064J 64 Megabit) is incorporated on an external board which is connected to an adapter board (using HDMI cable). This adapter is connected to the Laptop (using an USB).

I write a code, what works perfectly, if I would like to just copy the file to another. But I want to make it a little other.
If I open a file in hex-editor I also can see the ASCII values. But I would like get the ONLY the hex values to the other file.

1.Program takes messages as input at a rate “X” msg/sec, and outputs those messages at “Y” mgs/sec in a file.
2.The peak value of X can be 10msg/sec, and Y can be at max 5msg/sec. System should be designed in such a way that it can handle the peak input rate of 10msg/sec for not beyond 5 minutes.
3.Message contains following fields – unit id, timestamp, temperature.
4.Input data to be read from a file. Output data to be written to a file.
5.For testing design 3 types of profiles –
a.Profile 1 for 10 min – low rate, i.e. X = 4 msg/sec on an average throughout the period.
b.Profile 2 for 10 min – Max rate, i.e. X = 10 msg/sec for 2 min; then a sleep of 2 min, then repeat the same pattern till complete period
c.Profile 3 for 10 min - Max rate, i.e. X = 10 msg/sec for 5 min; then no traffic for next 5 min

I have added code to my main window to start the service, but I can't figure out how to install the service when the application runs for the first time, or is installed. Ideally I would like the service to be installed when the application is installed, I'm just not sure how to do that.

Sep 7, 2013I was trying out programs based on extern and as i understand, this is useful when accessing variables across multiple files having only one definition. But i tried a simple program as below without "extern" and thing seem to work when i expected it would fail during linking process

As i have included "var.h" in all header files without extern, "int a" would be included in both the .c file and during linking, compiler should have thrown a warning or error message but it compiles file without any issue. Shouldn't var.h have the following "extern int a"?
