I created a .txt file that I called in.txt. It has the letters: a b c d e. I put it in the same folder as the c++ code below. I was hoping that I after I compile and run the code, the in.txt file would read: e d c b a. Unfortunately, it doesn't. Even when I give the ofstream file another name, it does not create another text file.
how to get opengl working in code blocks? I have tried putting in the libraries and such in the correct folder. But I get an error saying that glut32.dll could not be found. I am running a 10.5 code blocks
i have turbo c++ 3.0 installed . my program is compiled without error and is running. but when i choose option to display scores in the consol , it hangs . check my code. i have to run this on same compiler. i just want to display all the contenets of text file .
I'm not sure what I'm missing. It is supposed to input and display player's name and score, calculate the average score, and display the players who scored below average.
It simply doesn't work. All I get is a black screen. Debug spits out an exit code of 1073741510 (0xc000013a).
Code: #include <iostream> #include <string> #include <iomanip> using namespace std;
const int arSize = 100; int inputPlayerData (string playerName [], int playerScore [], int &numPlayers);
The function Reverse does seem to work. Its supposed to take the words in a sentence and then reverse them. For example: "This is nice" to "Nice is this." When I type "This is nice" I get " niceniceis nice"
#include <iostream> #include <string> using namespace std;
The idea, was to show that when you compile with the /GF flag set, string pooling is enabled, and the const char*'s which point to string literals would point to the same, read-only memory location. However, the addresses are still different.
Obviously, I'm compiling with /GF set. I'm using VC++2008 IDE if it makes a difference.
I'm trying to write a program that prompts the user to enter a math expression (i.e 2*x + x*x) and a value of x. Then generate the value of y. My real question is: Is there a way to put the content of a string into the source code?
I would like to get hold of the code for a function that takes a string as input argument and returns a numerical value, either integer or double, according to the the expression represented by the string. For example the string may look like this:
Code: "(256 * d3 + d4) * factor - offset"
then the function would calculate the value of
Code: (256 * d[3] + d[4]) * factor - offset
where d is an integer array, factor and offset are double or int variables or constants. For my application the name for the array can be fixed to be "d", and the names for other variables and constants are known. The closest thing I could find on-line is this:
[URL]
which only does literal integer calculations, no double, no variables or constants. Are there existing code that does what I need or do I have to write my own?
This program gets input from a file and output to the screen and to a file. The difficulty I am having is summing the number I retrieve from the file for the individual numbers of sightings.
#include <fstream> // enables us to read and write files #include <iostream> // for cin and cout #include <cstdlib> #include <string> // enables us to hold strings of characters #include <cctype> using namespace std;
I've tried a bunch of alternative methods to prevent an assertion error. "not understanding" the bug and why I'm getting it are relevant here, not proper, (or more appropriate), coding methods. I would write it in another way to prevent the error, I simply want to understand what is happening during run-time that causes the situation.What is the bug?
I have a class 'A' which is almost perfect for my needs. Class 'B' uses class 'A' I've now designed Class 'C' and Class 'D' and noticed that there is a good chunk of code in class 'B', 'C' and 'D' for using Class 'A' is duplicated. I've separated out this code in specific, standalone functions in each of the classes. Now I'm wondering where this code should go. At the moment, the functions are duplicated in the three calling classes (B, C and D). Placing the functions into class 'A' would break the single responsibility principle. Inheritance to add functionality would likely break both SRP and LSP. The one that seems that it may work is composition.
However, Is designing a complete class just for a few functions over kill?
Would it be valid for classes 'B', 'C' and 'D' to access both the new class 'E' (which would depend on A) and the old class 'A' (which would have to be the same instance as the instance in the new class 'E'), or should the new class 'E' provide sufficient functionality so that Classes B, C and D don't need to access Class A directly? It would seem that its then an incomplete interface of the original object with additional functionality (ie, incompatible) Or should I do it a completely different way?
i am currently trying to get SDL working with C language.I am using Cygwin and Sublime text 2.I know and understand general programming, however i am trying to understand how to get SDL working with a file i create i.e test.c. i know to include which i have downloaded
#include <SDL.h>
where do i add the libraries so that i can use them in my program?
I am writing an irc bot in c++ on linux mint, and its not connecting right for some reason. anyways, heres the link: [URL].... . it was connecting to quakenet before I added the functions, but now it just says connecting... and then quits.
I'm learning network programming and I've decided to program a simple c++ irc bot. I'm able to connect to server and send commands. But when I try to receive and show message from server I first get a few lines, like "Please, wait, while we process your connection" or "Found your hostname". And then I start to get a ton of information about the server. Here is the whole class:
header file:
#pragma once #include <WinSock2.h> #include <WS2tcpip.h> class bot { public: bot(char *_server, char *_port); ~bot(void);
[Code] .....
Link to whole visual studio project: [URL] .... Am I doing something wrong during the IRC connection? Or I didn't understand how networking work?
for(c=0;c<100;c++) { m = c % 10; printf("%d ",m); } return(0); }
When I run this code in my compiler, I get the first nine or ten numbers, and then after that it just spells out the letters in my name in different sequences over and over.
