C++ :: Printing Total Number Of Even / Odd Integers

Feb 28, 2013

The program requires the user to enter 10 integers then print the total no. of even integer,highest even integer, lowest even integer then total no. of odd integer,highest odd integer, lowest odd integer

I already got the total no. of even integer and total no. of odd integer. But I don't know how will i get the highest even integer, lowest even integer and highest odd integer, lowest odd integer.

C :: Average And Total Of Six Integers

"Write a program that prompts the user for an integer number from the keyboard, and store it in a variable num. After each number is typed in, add num to a total.

Do this six times, each time adding num to a total. (Be sure to reuse the same variable named num for each of the six numbers entered.) When all six numbers have been entered from the keyboard, calculate an average. Display the total and average calculated. "

Here is what I have so far:

Code:

int main() {
int num, total1, total2, total3, total4, total5, total6, avg;

C :: Reading And Printing In A Specific Format Strings Of Characters And Integers

Feb 23, 2015

I have been skimming and searching but dont know how to word the search just right to find what I need to know. I have written simple stuff with the support of tutorials like weight conversion or loops counting up to a set number. Nothing amazing. The other day I found out how to input and print a string rather than a single text character which i though was bad ass. I even got it to read multiple strings on a single line and found a way to read multiple lines. I can even format it to read both integers and characters on the same line as long as I know the predefined format.

On to my question... How do I read multiple lines with both carecters and integers. for instance:

nissan 1996
toyota 1998
or more comples like
nissan gtr 1996
toyota markii 1998

I want to use
int year;
char make[10]; maybe need to use char make[10][10]; for an array i would guess.
char model[10]; optional for the extra data

but reproduce what i read in a different order. say...
1996 nissan
1998 toyota
vice the original format.

this is what I have tried.

Code: scanf("%s %s", &make,&year);

//The way I seen to read multiple lines was on here

scanf("%[^/t]", %make);

But this wont let me separate the two into two differnet definded data types. Let alone use printf to display them in reverse order.

C/C++ :: Printing Partitions Of A Number Using Constraint On Number Of Values?

Apr 15, 2014

I'm taking a C++ computer science course right now, and one of the questions on my latest assignment is this:

"A partition of an integer n is a way of writing n as a sum of positive integers. For example, for n=7, a partition is 1+1+5. Write a program that finds all the partitions of an integer n using r integers. For example, all the partitions of n=7 using r=3 integers are 1+1+5, 1+2+4, 1+3+3, 2+2+3."

I've been struggling with this problem for a couple days now, and how to do it. I understand I need a recursive function to grab variables, and probably an array or vector to store them, but where to begin.

I've been reading documents on partition generating and the concept still eludes me, and any other questions on here or other programming sites using partitions don't seem to have a constraint on them.

C++ :: Functions Without Parameters - Compute And Print Total Number Of Products For Company

Mar 27, 2013

Summary: 6 companies have a product in 5 different warehouses. Each company is identified by a positive ID number and each warehouse is identified by a number (1 for the first, 2 for the second,…)

Object: the object of this assignment is to write a C++ program which asks the user to enter a company ID number, and the number of products in each of the warehouses. It then computes and prints the total number of products for that company

If the total number of product is less than 100, it prints the message “place a new order”

Input: for each company, its ID, and the number of products in each warehouse with appropriate prompt messages.
Example: Enter company ID number: 101
Enter number of products in warehouse #1:30
Enter number of products in warehouse #2:60
Enter number of products in warehouse #3:0
Enter number of products in warehouse #4:5
Enter number of products in warehouse #5:27
The total for company 101 is:122

Output: for each company, the total number of product, and the message “place a new order” if the total number of product is less than 100.

Method:
1. Define global variable, int total_prod to hold the total number of products for a company
2. define the function void compute_total() that uses a loop to read the number of the products in all warehouses for one company, computer the total number of products and store it into the global variable total_prod.
3. Define the function void new_order() that determines if a new order need to be placed as follows: if the total number of products (in the global variable total_prod) is less than 100, it prints the message “place a new order”
4. Your function main does the following in a loop:
- read a company ID number
- call function compute_total() to read the number of the product in all warehouses for that company, and to compute their sum
- print the total number of the product for that company with an appropriate message
- call the function new_order() to determine if a new order need to be placed.

C++ :: Word Counter - Calculate Number Of Letters And Give Total Cost

Nov 4, 2013

I am currently working on an assignment.

#include <iostream>
using namespace std;

int main(int argc, char *argv[]) {
char letter;
int count = 0;
double ppl = 0;
double finalCost = ppl * (count - 1);

[Code] ....

I am trying to create a word counter program that asks for the price per letter and then asks for the sentence they are writing. The app should then calculate the number of letters and give the total cost similar to:

You have 40 letters at $3.45 per letter, and your total is $138.00.

Everything compiles fine but when I run it the inputs don't work and it outputs:

You have -1 per letter, and your total cost is $-0.

Dec 2, 2012

i dont usually write console programs, and i cant seem to find out how one parses an unknown number of arguments with cin.

the program receives an unknown amount of integers in stdin, and i need to parse them withouth hanging.

Unfortunately, stdin is a async. stream and blocks, if it doesnt find any integers left.

I cant use peek() or seek() either, as both are async, too, (which makes me wonder what their exact use is?).

3.keep one of the two digits received and send the remaining digit to the permute function.

4. keep doing this till only one digit remains. this is the smallest solution so return it.
