C++ :: How To Skip A Block Of Commands When User Interrupts

Nov 3, 2014

I am working on a program that does something like this,

Void main() {
cout<<"H";timedelay(1);
cout<<"E";timedelay(1);
cout<<"L";timedelay(1);
cout<<"L";timedelay(1);
cout<<"O";timedelay(1); //timedelay(int a) is a function which gives a delay of 'a' seconds.
{
....
}
}

This code is just for fancy and I would like to squish in some statements which would give the user an option to skip it (by entering any keyboard key),and resume with the rest of the program.

C :: Program That Displays Menu Of Commands For User To Choose From

Aug 1, 2013

I've read that we can write a program that displays a menu of commands for the user to choose from.We can write some functions that implement these commands, then store pointers to the functions in the array :

Code:
void ( *file_cmd[])(void) = { new_cmd , open_cmd }; // 2 cmd's for simplicity

We can get a similar effect with a switch statement but using an array of function pointers gives us more flexibility since the elements of the array can be changed as the programm is running.

I decided to write an example about this in order to understand better the context, I am facing some problems though :

Code:
#include<stdio.h>
#include<stdlib.h>
typedef void (*p_foo) (int);
void foo(int x);
void foo2(int y);

[Code] .....

The problems are :

Code:
TEST2.c:9: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
TEST2.c:9: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
TEST2.c:25: error: too few arguments to function "*(arr + (long unsigned int)((long unsigned int)i * 8ul))"

C Sharp :: Displaying Text File Block By Block In C#

Dec 21, 2012

I have a text file that is divided into blocks:

#1
1:animal
2:food
3:moves
4:oxygen

#2
1:eats:2
2:breaths:2
3:can:1
4:is a:1

#3
1:1:2
1:3:3
1:2:4

And the following program that displays block by block:

StreamReader streamReader = new StreamReader("G:LAB123LABWORK2.txt");
            int block = 0;
            while (!streamReader.EndOfStream)  {
                string line = streamReader.ReadLine().Trim();
                if (line.CompareTo("") == 0)

[Code] .....

My problem is am supposed to add a verification code so that if i put a string e.g 1:?:? it returns the block where the string is found and gives of all possible answers.

Attached Files : LABWORK2.txt (240 Bytes)

C# :: (Grid) Stop User From Clicking Past A Certain Amount Of Block

May 21, 2014

So, I'm attempting to create a grid on the screen, and to do so, I've implemented a multidimensional array of Rectangles. When the program starts, I use a for loop to increase the x and y coordinates to form the grid.

public Form1() {
InitializeComponent();
for (int x = 0; x < 12; x++) {
for (int y = 0; y < 12; y++) {

[Code] ....

My issue is trying to figure out when the user has clicked on a rectangle, and furthermore, which rectangle in the array that he/she has clicked on. As I will change the border to red when given the correct rectangle.

I'm using Visual Studio 2008, and here is my code so far.

using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.ComponentModel;
using System.Data;
using System.Drawing;

[Code] .....

I'm making this into a real game, with classes and all.

C++ :: Hook HW Interrupts In Flat Memory Mode With DOS32/A

Jul 23, 2012

I have a question about how to hook HW interrupt in flat memory mode...

@ about my application...
- application is created by combining Watcom C and DOS32/A.
- application is written for running on DOS mode( not on OS mode )
- with DOS32/A now I can access >1M memory and allocate large memory to use...(running in flat memory mode !!!)

@ current issue...
- I want to write an ISR(interrupt service routine) for one PCI card. Thus I need to "hook" the HW interrupt.
- Ex. the PCI card's interrupt line = 0xE in DOS. That means this device will issue interrupt via 8259's IRQ 14.

But I did not how to achieve my goal to hook this interrupt in flat mode ?

@ resource I found...
- in watcom C's library, there is one sample using _dos_getvect, _dos_setvect, and _chain_intr to hook INT 0x1C...
I tested this code and found OK. But when I apply it to my case: INT76 ( where IRQ 14 is "INT 0x76" <- (14-8) + 0x70 )
then nothing happened...
* I checked HW interrupt is generated but my own ISR did not invoked...

Do I lose something ? or are there any functions I can use to achieve my goal ?

However, I just keep getting a "system Was not declared in this scope" error message. Is there something wrong with this?

C :: Gzip System Linux - Program To Unite 2 Commands Into 1 Command

Sep 15, 2013

I'm writing a program to turn the two commands "gunzip file.tar.gz" then "tar -xvf file.tar" into "x file.tar.gz", but I've ran into a problem I can't find a solution to, here are the outputs I get depending on if I use a gunzip -f flag in my system() call or not:

if I use: (void)system("gunzip ", store );
> x file.tar.gz
gzip: compressed data not read from a terminal. Use -f to force decompression.
type: gzip -h
store 1: file.tar.gz
tar: option requires an argument -- 'f'

[code]....

I don't know if the problem is something to do with my code or something to do with gunzip and if it is to do with gunzip if I can even solve it with my code? I've tried for a while to find more info and read the gunzip man file, ran "gunzip file.tar.gz" outside of my program and found that it works normally producing file.tar so I suspect the problem is related to system()?
