View 10 RepliesHow can I read text from a webpage asynchronously,from within C++. After you first connect to the internet using usual means, you enter the string
e.g. "[URL] ...." and the C++ program reads the information: "<title>BBC Website</title><body>This is the BBC website...." from the internet.
Here I want to connect to website every 60 minutes and fetch only first 100 lines of the run.txt file as mentioned above. How can I do this using C++ and asynchronous winsock ???
Code:
#define WIN_OS
#define _DEBUG_PRINT(X) /* X */
//For commn
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <assert.h>
[Code] .....
I am trying to make a simple c++ program that will read some text in the html page. Here is the source of the html i want to read.
<html>
<body>
This is a test message.
</body>
</html>
My expected result in c++ in an string array like this:
This
is
a
test
message
I tried to look around and I came across a function called InternetReadFile but I can't find any example similar to what I want.
I have almost a hundred names in a text file that I want to convert to email addresses and save to another file. I seem to have it working, but it doesn't print the full names in the email prefix. The output I'm looking for is Doe_John@livebrandm, but I'm only getting D_J@livebrandm. I'm not sure what I should specifically be reading up on that applies to this directly.
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
int main(void)
{
FILE *fpin=fopen("namesIN.txt", "r");
FILE *fpout=fopen("emailOUT.txt", "a");
char first[20],last[20],inbuff[1500];
[Code]...
I just wrote a program for Huffman Encoding, where I take a text file, encode it in the form of 0's and 1's, and save that as another text file. However, this does not solve my purpose as it is taking even more space.
So I want to know how do I convert a text file containing these 0'S & 1's to a binary format.
Here is my program:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <string.h>
#include<fstream>
#include<string>
#include<iostream>
using namespace std;
typedef struct node_t {
struct node_t *left, *right;
int freq;
char c;
[Code]...
I am trying to read an array values from Tmin.txt file. I take array size from user viz. number of raw & column and then, read the following data from Tmin.txt file which look like this:
20 40 20 25 30
20 30 40 20 25
20 40 20 25 30
20 30 40 20 25
30 40 40 30 40
I am using getline, and then converting it to int by using atoi. But my code is not working.
Code :
// reading a text file
#include <iostream>
#include <fstream>
#include <string>
using namespace std;
[Code] ....
The problem is that I want to write a C++ program that converts an ordinary text file into binary and then reads that binary file and converts it to text file so that this text file equals to first text file. I have wrote this code for it.
int main() {
string name1 = "first", name2 = "sec", name3 = "third";
int j = 0, k = 0;
ifstream ifs(name1.c_str()); // Here I want to read from the ordinary text file (name1).
[Code] .....
Now what the ofs.write(as_bytes(j), sizeof(int)); or ifs.read(as_bytes(k), sizeof(int)); exactly mean?
In practice, the file name1 contains digit 5 and its size is 1 byte. The name2 contains some character/sign like [] and its size is 4 bytes and name3 contains digit 0 and its size is 1 byte, why? I before have created the name1 file in ordinary text file mode.
My machine is Windows 7 32-bit. My compiler is MVS 2012.
How to convert an ordinary text file into binary and how to convert that binary file back to a text file so that the first text file equals with the last text file?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a requirement where I have to import a lot of text files into excel. Up till now I can import the text files using visual studio C# but after importing the format is not exactly the way I want (mostly the delimiters). So I have to manually use the text import wizard and make the changes. I was just wondering if there is any way to program all of it. Delimiting the spaces, specifying the column widths, eliminating a few rows and columns.

I have a program that converts document files to html , however there's a very strange issue with the program, it is only converting files that i open within the program using fstream i.e. ofstream out("test.doc"); now ill have to copy the contents from another document that i want to convert to this test file and it would convert but if i try converting a document that has not been implicitly created it would give me a garbage .html file.
#include <iostream>
#include <fstream>
#include <cassert>
#include <string>
#define tab " "
// file extensions that the program can handle
// you can add more extenssions if needed
using namespace std;
char *fileExt[] = {".doc", ".c", ".cpp"};

Program that reads in a normal text file and converts it into mobile phone text. that is if the word is 3 characters or less then ther is no changes to the word and if the word is four or more letters then remove all the vowels from the word except for vowels that are capitals.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had a quick question about how to check the balance of brackets in an HTML file using a stack (pushing and popping). I understand pushing and popping. I get lost when it comes to the logic of having to actually check what is in the brackets, and making sure those are nested correctly.
So while
<title><b> THIS FILE </b> USES CORRECTLY NESTED TAGS </title>
is correct and
<title> <b> THIS FILE </title> IS </b> NOT NESTED CORRECTLY.
is incorrect;
How do I check for the actual tags inside the brackets, keeping in mind that there are single sided tags as well.
(ex. <img src="a.jpg"/>)
I want to:
1. Load HTML File (or take stuff from string)
2. display window with content of that html
so yeah, basically something like a browser, is there some lib that will just load html and do it for me? I dont need whole browser, I just need to show really simple html pages in my app....
I am using CDHtmlDialog in my MFC application to create a UI with HTML, CSS & JavaScript.
In my project there's one dialog created from CDHtmlDialog and a corresponding HTML file for that dialog.
Now during run time i want to change the contents of the HTML file.
Not just the HTML part, i want to change the CSS & JavaScript too.
So basically what am trying to do is, change the entire content of the default HTML file.
Is this possible? If yes, how can i do that?
I tried to do this with _spawnl(), but first of all I'm not sure how to properly ask for the path to iexplore.exe, as I'm sure it will change every time MS gets a whim to move it. I know there's a GetWindowsDirectory() call, but that's not where IE resides (its in "C:Program FilesInternet Exploreriexplore.exe" in XP, Lord know where on win 7 or 8).
Also, even temporarily hard coding the path to make it launch with spawnl(), I can't seem to get my html document to display. I know the path to that is right (since I put it there ).
char * pFile = "someFile.htm";
char * pCmd = "C:Program FilesInternet Exploreriexplore.exe";
int res = _spawnl(_P_NOWAIT, pCmd,pCmd, pFile, NULL); // also tried without specifying pCmd 2x
if (res == -1) MessageBox("Can't Open File.");
So my second question would be, how to you PROPERLY pass the file to view as an argument.
i'm kinda new to c#, i wanna create a program which will take few data from GUI and export it into an excel file. Another thing is how to modify the data displacement in that particular excel file?
View 6 Replies View Relatedhow to extract certain cells for an excel file that is continuously updating. I had a look at [URL] since they provide a .h library that is useful for this situation, but could not find any code.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am currently having issues with the following code when trying to create a excel file using C#. This is the code that I have at the moment.
oXL = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application();
oXL.Visible = false;
oWK = (Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Workbook)(oXL.Workbooks.Add(System.Reflection.Missing.Value));
oWK.SaveAs(path + "" + fileName);
oWS = (Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Worksheet)oWK.Worksheets.get_Item(1);
oWS.Cells[1, 1] = "Student ID";
oWS.Cells[1, 2] = "Student Name";
oWK.Save();
The line that I am having issues with is
oWS = (Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Worksheet)oWK.Worksheets.get_Item(1);
If I remove it, I am able to create and save teh workbook in the directory. However, I want to make some changes on a worksheet, and that is where the issue is. I have also tried using the line of code:
oWS = (Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Worksheet)oWK.Worksheets[1];
This line had no luck either. The issue I am having is the error regarding InvalidOperationException: Dynamic operations can only be performed in homogenous AppDomain.
I am trying to open a excel file using ole automation, passin with char * the name.
Code:
void ExcelOpen(char * FileOpenName){

Is not the first time I upload this program i know, but the problem now is that i try to export files, because i need to create an excel graph. But when I try to run it, I don't have any result, no file and no result of the program.
Code:
#include<stdio.h>#include <time.h>
#include <cstdlib>
#include <math.h>
int randfun(double arrX[], double arrY[], int size);
int cenfun(double arrX[], double arrY[], int size);
int rotatefun(double arrX[], double arrY[], int size, double center_x, double center_y, const double angle);

I am able to export a tabulated string to an Excel file, when I open the file in Excel it looks fine (3 rows, 3 columns). However, the formatting seems a bit dodgy as I can't then read the same file back using C#. If I open it in Excel and do a save as, then I can read it from C#.
fileWriter = new System.IO.StreamWriter(@"C:Sheet1.xls"); //
This overwrites file each time by default.
fileWriter.Write("COL_A COL_B COL_C
1 2 3
10 20 30");
fileWriter.Close();
To read the Excel file back i'm using the following code:
OleDbConnection cnn = new OleDbConnection(@"Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=" + (@"C:Sheet1.xls") + "; Extended Properties=Excel 12.0;");
OleDbCommand oconn = new OleDbCommand("select * from [Sheet1$]", cnn);
cnn.Open();
OleDbDataAdapter adp = new OleDbDataAdapter(oconn);
DataTable forceResultsTable = new DataTable();
adp.Fill(resultsDataTable);
The error I'm getting back is "OleDbException was unhandled" with "cnn.Open();" being highlighted in visual.

This one works fine and it's a great commented code to understand even for beginners like myself, but it only works with one table per sheet. Once I add second table in sheet, it throws an error that something is wrong in one of the columns in my spreadsheet: It says: " Error occurs! The error message is: Cannot find column 4. "
Basically, I have this type of tables in my spreadsheet:
So I want that my program would export those two tables in a single .XML file (just read them both). And those two tables should be separated in two XML childs: the upper one should be Order-Header and the lower one - Line-Items, like this:
<ROOT>
<Order-Header>
.....
</Order-Header>
<Line-Items>
.....
</Line-Items>
</ROOT>
ConvertExcelToXML.cs:
[Code] ....
I copied all the code because I think it is the easier way to spot where to change it, to read those two tables in one spreadsheet and export them both in one XML file. How could I achieve this kind of functionality.
I need to save excel file data directely into oracle database by using XML string but getting error as
ORA-01704: string literal too long
01704. 00000 - "string literal too long"
*Cause: The string literal is longer than 4000 characters.
*Action: Use a string literal of at most 4000 characters.
Longer values may only be entered using bind variables.
Error at Line: 50 Column: 31
I wish to read an excel file which contains the table shown at the picture below.
I don't really know how to code the direct storage of the values in the appropriate array.
For example I wish to store the countries in an array of a string type.
could I have some piece of code which illustrates it (I mean the reading of an excel file and the direct storage of his value in an array).
