C/C++ :: Reading And Printing 2D Array?

I have a program where I need to read in a 96 number .txt file and perform some operations on it.However, the numbers it reads in are all inncorrect. I got it to work in XCode, but it doesnt work in DevC++ which is where the teacher will be running it. Do I have any major error?

Here is what I've tried. I'm trying to read a file aND print stuff in it, but my while loop isn't ending up.. What should i do? It only prints patient name 1 time and after that it prints nothing.

removing system("pause");

results in an endless loop.

I need a program that reads the number of lines of a file and then several (max of 20) lines of text from a .txt file so an example of the .txt file is: 2 This is the first string This is string number 2 So it first reads the 2 and then reads the two lines of text. It stores the text in an array of pointers. The code i have so far is:

It doesnt give me any errors but all it does is keep running and doesnt print anything out kind of like its in an infinite loop although i dont see how that could be possible.

I am trying to read hex data from a file (not just hex values in text format). I was able to read it (02 EC) with "fread" into an char before but I need to change the Hex value into an integer in decimal.

I already read about strtol but I would prefer reading the hex Value into an integer.

I have been skimming and searching but dont know how to word the search just right to find what I need to know. I have written simple stuff with the support of tutorials like weight conversion or loops counting up to a set number. Nothing amazing. The other day I found out how to input and print a string rather than a single text character which i though was bad ass. I even got it to read multiple strings on a single line and found a way to read multiple lines. I can even format it to read both integers and characters on the same line as long as I know the predefined format.

On to my question... How do I read multiple lines with both carecters and integers. for instance:

nissan 1996
toyota 1998
or more comples like
nissan gtr 1996
toyota markii 1998

I want to use
int year;
char make[10]; maybe need to use char make[10][10]; for an array i would guess.
char model[10]; optional for the extra data

but reproduce what i read in a different order. say...
1996 nissan
1998 toyota
vice the original format.

this is what I have tried.

But this wont let me separate the two into two differnet definded data types. Let alone use printf to display them in reverse order.

1. How would I set this up to store the user input characters into an array?

2. How would I print out the stored data in the shape of the word?

I have an array of structure that takes family information (name, age, and state) after it takes the users input it prints back all of the information that was input and then prints the family members that just live in Texas. After that I am trying to implement a function to average out the ages of all family members but I cant seem to get it right, whenever it gets to that part of the program it just outputs 0. I also tried adding an & sign prior to FAMILY[i].age and got an error of int from ptr with no cast.

Also I realize that the code only shows adding of the family members ages which is fine for now as I am concentrated on getting that to work in the first place.

I'm having some trouble printing the duplicates found in an array. Specifically, when the value is at more than 2 positions. So if the value 3 is at position 1, 10, and 11 it'll print three messages instead of two:

value 3 at position 1 is also at position 10
value 3 at position 1 is also at position 11
value 3 at position 10 is also at position 11

instead of

value 3 at position 1 is also at position 10
value 3 at position 1 is also at position 11

This is real simple problem, but I can't seem to figure it out. I've been trying to implement another array to 'remember' the encountered position, but I haven't had any luck.

I need to print all the values in a square 2d array that are above the diagonal line. So if I have this 6x6 array for instance:

{0,0,0,0,0,0},
{1,1,1,1,1,1},
{2,2,2,2,2,2},
{3,3,3,3,3,3},
{4,4,4,4,4,4},
{5,5,5,5,5,5}

I'd have to print the elements in italics. I've tried this:

with the array mentioned above but for some reason it keeps printing the elements BELOW the line, when I need it to print those above it. I know that for arrays we usually start loops with a value of 0 but seeing as there should be nothing to print at [0,0] I started the loop at 1.

This is what I am supposed to be doing with this problem: Read the integer values in the file "numbers.dat" and display

* them in reverse order (that is, display the last number in the
* file first, the second-to-last second and so on). Use an array to
* store the values. It is safe to assume that the file contains no
* more than 100 values.

I have gotten far enough to read the file and display as an array, but it is displaying vertically rather than horizontally. So it is displaying 10 and a 1 on the first line then the 0 on the second line. Before I can work the reverse part out, I need it to display each number as 10 line 1 -235 line 2 so on and so forth.

I have an assignment where I need to take an assigned image, rotate it 90 degrees to the right, flip it upside down, and turn it to grayscale; each with different outputs.

I was thinking if I can read in the image into a 2d array //array[height][width] or even just an array with the values of each pixel (r, g, b), I can just modify the array and spit it out when done.

if i can just get it into the array, I think I'll be fine. We've done similar assignments with modifying arrays for grayscale images and the other two I can probably figure out. But how am I going to read in each pixel into an array with three different values in each slot? This is my code so far:

So if I have a file that has a list of scores and the name of the student, how am I going to read the scores and names, and print to output? For example, the text file will look like:

83 75 89 90 75 67 John Doe
67 92 78 64 88 95 Jane Waters
76 65 87 70 97 76 Billy Bob

And they'll be printed like that too.

I made a 2D array for the scores and names, and was able to scan the scores into the scoreArray, but I am stuck for the names. Do I use fscanf, fgets, etc? And how do I use these for a char array?

One number and one character need to be assigned to each element of the array. I know exactly how to fill a 2D array when it's just numbers, but the characters and the commas are giving me a lot of trouble.

why when I print out "array[2]" nothing prints? It just prints blank space. My file definitely has text in it, but when I try to assign "text" into the array of pointers it won't show any text. I know fgets() appends a newline at the end of the string, not sure if that has anything to do with it, but I've tried printing everything that should be in "array" with a for loop and I get nothing.
