Copy constructor need to be same class type as parameter. and overloading assignment operator also need to be same class type. C :: Printing A Char String From A Struct
Jan 3, 2015I am trying to save 5 persons names to a struct, and then printing them afterwards, shortly before the program ends. I tried to print the char string out right after it has been copied over, and it showed fine, but when i try to write it out right at the end of the program (its in a separate function) the terminal just prints gibberish.

May 28, 2013I wrote this simplified version of a program i am writing that parses data in UDP packets. In the process of doing so i pretty much answered all my questions and fix all the problems i was having.
decodeSystemMap function will be in loop, and will proccess packets that have mostly the same data, only a few items will be added or changed or deleted.
whats the best way to check if there are any new, deleted, or removed items in the packet and only modify those?
Is there anything unsafe / dangrous about the way the code is now?

Feb 11, 2014I basically just want a function that tells me if 'X' or 'O' won in a tic-tac-toe game. I don't care about the visuals, I just want a function that tells me if 'X' or 'O' won. If X wins, return 0. If Y wins, return 1.
How to do the diagonals, but as far as the across and down wins, I know I have to use a nested for loop, but am a little stuck, as to exactly how to set it up.

The values which are stored in uc[] is ascii values.I need the integer values to be stored in uc[]. I tried to do it with sprintf. but the output is not as expected. if I print the uc[i] it should diplay the value as 0,1,2....99.

After this, for example, cHomeTeamFaceOffsPercentageWon is, "29%".
Then, I use
std::string szwPercentageWon = std::string(cHomeTeamFaceOffsPercentageWon);
szwPercentageWon is then, "2". Shouldn't this convert correctly, to "29%" as well.
Or is there something I'm missing? Maybe the termination character, or something.

Mar 30, 2014In this program, I have to ask the user for an employee, then the program will check to see if the file for that employee exist, if it doesnt then it will automatically create the file.
ReadNew function reads the file....check to see if it exist
CreateNew function creates a new file.
In my code I have no problem with the first part of reading file.. and my createnew function works in other programs where I am asking for input of file name to create the file name. However in this code I cannot figure how to automatically pass the input filename from the ReadNew function to the CreateNew function. I can't ask the user to enter the name a second time, so I have to pass the input filename into both functions. Here is my code.

I have to load the abbreviations ONLY from the file into an array of char[ - (already done and tested).
I have to get a 2 char abbreviation as a string,then test it against the state array to make sure it is a valid abbreviation. As it stands, my test is never finding an invalid abbreviation..

and what i want is

I don't know why but its replacing 1 with 49 and 0 with 48.what am I doing wrong or how to do this?

Mar 30, 2014I have program where i have to check to see if file exist, if it does not then it needs to be created. SO I have a read file that works fine, if th efile exist it reads whats in it, if it does it says the file does not exist. Now Im trying to creata function that creates the file if it doesnt exist. so in my read function when the person enters the name of the file to be checked for..I pass that name to a variable called name..Hoping that I could then pass it into my create file function if it does not exist..and use that variable to pass the name they entered into the createfile array..called filename.. but I am having trouble because i get error when i try to pass from a string name to char array.. even when I change the varialbe name to char, or char [256] it will not work.. I try to fing a way to convert th string to a char using the strncopy function but still no dice..here the code i have for the createfile funciton
