C++ :: Widget That Implement Some Matrix Functions Using Data From A Text File
Dec 3, 2014
I need to write a widget that will implement some matrix functions using data from a text file. The input data will be spreadsheet like and fully determined with complete rows and columns. I need to do the following,
1. populate a data structure with the input data (double) to create matrix x
2. transpose the input data matrix x to create x'
3. multiply x * x' to create a square matrix x'x
4. take the determinant of x'x
This is pretty standard linear algebra, but not something I have done in cpp before. Implementation such as the best data types to use to store each of the three matrices, how they are sized, and what library functions may be available for the matrix functions like transpose, multiply, determinant, etc.
I will be removing each data row from the initial input to observe the effect on the determinant in case that has any effect on program design.
I got an assignment at school asking for a program that can implement functions that store, get and deletes text/binary data to a given memory area. We are supposed to make kind of like a tiny-mini OS..any links to some tutorials or explanations hon ow to understand this and be able to make a program like this on my own?
What I have done : Created functions to accept inputs from user and read,print out adjacent matrix.
What I need : How do I start DFS in adjacent matrix so that I can output the vertices of each connected component of a graph? I'm confused with adjacent matrix and the term 'component'.
#include <stdio.h> #include <iostream> #define maxV 8 using namespace std; int V,E,x,y; int a[maxV][maxV];
How to implement the main queue functions Enque() and Deque() using two stacks S1 & S2. You allowed only to call push () and pop() functions of the two stacks to implement Enque()and Deque() functions.
#include<iostream> using namespace std; const int size=5; int arr[size]; int front=-1,rear=-1; bool isfull() { if(rear==size-1)
I am supposed to implement the member functions of class Person.
class Person { public: Person(); Person(string pname, int page); void get_name() const; void get_age() const;
[Code] ....
The code I wrote is below. Where I am struggling is the program does not allow me to input age. Therefore, I cannot test if my temp for age works. It automatically defaults to 0 because it hasn't taken input. Here is my code:
// Program Title: Person function // Program Description: The program prompts the user for first and last name and age. // It then prints the output that was provided by the user.
#include<iostream> #include<string> using namespace std; class Person {
I have a working lab project with a loop error. Code posted in second post. Here's the requirements:
* - program has to be able to handle file failure - must loop (prefer to use a while loop here), read in the data, calculates values, etc. and then output the results.
* The input data file includes
1. a 1 or a 0 indicating that there is a set of employee data following
2. the hourly rate of the employee
3. the humber of hours worked
4. the number of dependents
5. a 1 or a 0 indicating whether the employee is full time (1=full time).
Problem: At first I wouldn't loop back... so I moved the curly brace above the return0;
I have a program I have to do that counts the number of words in a text file. I have tried the code on 2 computers now since my programming teacher told me the code was fine. Here is my code:
#include <iostream> #include <string> #include <fstream> using namespace std; int main() { ifstream infile; infile.open("tj.text" , ios::in);
I have been working on the same problem as mp252 from an earlier thread and 4 days later, I appear to have it working. Mine only goes from 0-9999 though as I must move on!
Code: #include <iostream> #include <string> int getThousands(int number); int getHundreds(int number); int getTens(int number); int getUnits(int number); void printNumber(int number);
[Code]......
I had a scrap of paper like a mad scientist trying to find relationships between numbers and the values that they would return through my functions. This is how I arrived at the conditions of my if statements in 'void printNumber'.
I have seen other code that allows a greater range but I can't quite follow it (yet):
I have an QHBoxLayout that includes two QLabel Widgets. My left QLabel is much larger than my right QLabel, however, the QHBoxLayout is splitting the output in half, so the left side of the layout is too small and the right side of the layout is too big. How do I modify the QHBoxLayout to create unequal proportioned space for each included widget?
read some information from a text file. The program I'm working on is like a simple betting program.
What I need to read are:
match_code - team1 - team2 - odd1 - odd0 - odd2 139 Atletico Madrid - Real Madrid 2.853.40 2.35
But the spaces between datas are not known. We only know that both team names may contain more than one word and there is one space, exactly one dash and one more space (" – ") between team names.
Also match_code is an int and odds are double values.
1. first my professor required me NOT to change the MAIN function(because he made it)
2. I have to make 3 getlogs() STRING FUNCTIONS:
a. string getlogs(); - accepts no paramters, SHOWS ALL THE CONTENTS OF TEXT FILE b. string getLogs(const string & a); - accepts 1 parameter -SHOWS ONLY THE LINE WHICH CONTAINS THE SPECIFIED DATE FROM MAIN FUNCTION which is "2014-08-01" c. string getLogs(const string & b, const string & c); - accepts 2 parameters, SHOWS ONLY THE LINES FROM THE DATE START to DATE END specified at THE MAIN FUNCTION which is date start-"2014-08-01";DateEnd = "2014-08-10";
I'm still learning intro to C language. Currently I'm having problem with my code. The task is to ask user to input information about staff and write them into a text file. The problem occur when:
1) output in text/.exe file display random characters.
2) Data obtained from New_Staff unable to pass into Export_Profile.
3) a new output will overwrite the existing information in the text/.exe file
4) the delete function unable to delete correctly after the first time i delete a staff information in text file.
Code to write data(Double type e.g 12345.67891) in text file like pattern given below. Remember to put tab between each column.
----------------------------------------------------- Column1 Column2 Column3 Value 1 Value 2 Value 3 Value 4 Value 5 Value 6 Value 7 Value 8 Value 9 ----------------------------------------------------
I have a program that saves all information temporarily into memory (into the array), however, I need a permanent save solution. I have the full program working correctly, formatted perfectly, but it's missing the file array to file output.
Essentially, whenever I'm presented with the menu I'll be able to add entries, search by last name, show the entire list, and exit and save. Whenever I select option 4 the program should save to a file "address_book.txt". Whenever I reload the program, it should load from "address_book.txt" and populate the array with the preexisting data.
My question is focused on how and where I should implement the file output. What I have thus far:
#include <iostream> #include <string.h> //Required to use string compare #include <fstream> //Eventually used to store array into file using namespace std; class AddBook{
Is it possible to display data from a textfile and also save data in to a textfile, reason being is for me to create back-ups of data into a textfile hidden somewhere in a safe location in the local disk or server in case of database error and failure.
I am currently working on a project that requires me to "load the data in the file into array at the beginning of the program."
I have a text file with data, and I need to populate an array with the information. From then on, I am supposed to be able to add, display, and search that array. However, I can't figure out how to add the data from the file into an array. I was trying to find out how to search the text file itself. So it threw me off balance and I've been staring so long at the screen I can't really focus.
