I am trying to do a LINQ Query by Double Clicking the child node. When I click on the parent node it brings up the correct data. But when I click on the child node it still brings up the data from the parent node. How do I get the child node to display the correct data?
I have a list with 2 items in it. When I double click on item 1, I want to open Window1.xaml, when I double click on item 2, I want to open Window2.xaml...
The code below works for popping up a message box, or window for that matter. But I really need to get the Window1 and Window2 based on the clicking of the correct selected item in the list.

This is more of a Application Design question, Let's say I have Form1(Login), this is opened from Program.cs, when the user enters details, the Event Handler makes a instance of a class, adds the data and stores the instance within Program.cs class.
So the best thing to do here, is to close the Form1(Login) and open Form2(Main) via Program.cs so that I can send the List<Login> object with my Login instance objects to said form. This form will remain open throughout the applications use as it's like the main GUI for all the programs functions.
When I close this form, I may want to save some information before the application is terminated, so I may as well store the Login instances in Program.cs anyway.
Main stepping stone: Multiple (usually around 3 max) users can login this system if need be, which will mean closing Form2(Main) and then opening Form1(Login) so that once Form1 is closed it can recreate the From2(Main) form and pass the new List<Login> to that form.
What's the best way to do this, at the moment i'm creating the Form2 instance like so:

//Detect the Login form being closed
loginForm.Closed += new EventHandler(OnLoginClosed);
//...
//Open the main form when the login is closed
private void OnLoginClosed(object sender, EventArgs e)

This seems like it will work and do the job, but is there a better and cleaner way? The List<Login> will be passed to Forms which are created via Form2(Main) as this information will be needed. It's just that ive been told not to use Forms for too much data containment.

I have the decryption code and works perfectly when running it through console app c++.
But, the way I decrypt is to decrypt from a file, and create a new file which is decrypted.
I can't use that kind of code in my program in windows form app c++..
I need to read the encrypted text file and decrypt it in memory while using it for my program..

I am having a datagrid view. In that suppose I give the header name as wrong, suppose say, instead of "test", i gave it as "tst". So i need to rename in this case. So what i expect is I need to double click that header and rename it. But in code I can't directly give it as "test", since it can be whatever. By double clicking i need to change in that display itself. I can able to catch the double click event. It is as below. Any code which makes me to edit and rename the header.

I have two listboxes and what I would like to do is use the double click function to copy what is clicked in listbox1 to listbox2.
I would also like it so if anything else is clicked in listbox1 it is added below the previous clicked item in listbox2.

However my issue is as soon as the program is running it will display "failure" on label7 as soon as the button is clicked. I understand why it is doing this as "a" is not in the textbox at this time so it reads the else line and displays the message. When I enter "a" in the textbox everything works fine and label7 changes to the right message.

I need to write a windows form application that allows the user to enter a credit card number and credit card type and then determines whether it is a valid number using the following rules:
1.) the first number is:
a. 4 for visa
b. 5 for master card
c. 37 for american express
d. 6 for discover
2.) passes the mod 10/ luhn check, which is calculated as:
a. from right to left, multiply every other digit by 2. when doubling a digit results in a two digit number, add the numbers to get
a single digit. ( like 6 * 2 = 12 therefore 1 + 2 = 3).
b. add all the single digits from 2a
c. add all the odd places from right to left in the card number
d. sum the results fro steps 2b and 2c
e. if the resulting number in 2c is divisible by 10, the card number is valid otherwise it is invalid.
The chapter is introducing methods so that is the main thing i will be using for each step.

Alright, so I'm making a windows form with a few hundred buttons, and one button will change color based on data the program receives over a socket. This is what I have, and it kind of works, but I don't want to have to make another if statement for all 260 buttons.

I am trying to create a windows form that acts like a windows taskbar. So i found this on the web Link so i have tried using it.
But when i try and edit the form in the form designer in visual studio none of the changes i have made appear when i debug the form. It just appears as a blank grey box at the top of my screen. What am i doing wrong?

In my class I'm trying to display the elapsed time as my label on a windows form. I've been reading up on all the different articles online and have tried these three methods all with the same result:
1. Using the System.Timers class
2. Built in Timer sub-class
3. Defining directly inside of my class the StartTime, etc. variables.
All of these still result in the following error:
Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'User_Interface' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on.
Currently, my windows form is being called by another class, but I'm not sure if this is the cause of the problem.
