C++ :: Redirecting Network Traffic (building A Proxy)

Feb 3, 2015

I want to build a proxy, middleman between various client programs on my machine and servers outside, like this:

Client -> Proxy -> Server, Client <- Proxy <- Server.

OSes are Windows XP, 7 and 8.

Within that proxy I want to analyze data before it reaches it's destination and have full control over it to the point where I can prevent a packet from reaching it's destination if my program finds something suspisious going on. I need incoming and outgoing traffic of specific adresses and ports to be forwarded into my application on my client machine. My app then should deliver packets to their destination after they were analyzed.

The parts where data is received, analyzed, manipulated if needed, and sent is something I could code with no difficulty. But the concept of redirecting and forwarding is hard for me to grasp at the moment. I'd like to know at least what winsock functions I have to use.

If it's possible, I would like to use Windows libraries only, nothing from 3rd parties.

C :: Redirecting Input And Output

Sep 14, 2013

I have this code:

Code:

#include <stdio.h> //printf
#include <stdlib.h> //exit
#include <unistd.h> //fork
#include <sys/types.h> //pid_t
#include <sys/wait.h> //waitpid
}

[code]....

I would like to, when running cat, send in some data like "testing" to its stdin, and then catch the output of stdout, and put it into a character array variable.Currently the parent stalls till the child is done.I imagine the parent has to some how detect that the child executed 'cat', and then send in input to stdin?Then somehow detect that 'cat' is done executing, and read the output from stdout? I have looked around and found "dup2", but I don't understand how to send in and get data to the child from the parent, especially since the "file descriptors" is not pointing to any files in the first place..

C :: Implementing Simple Transparent Proxy With Filtering

Feb 9, 2014

My question is mainly about networks. I wan to implement a simple transparent proxy in C, which will filter the browsed sites according to URL blacklist (check before sending the HTTP request) and keywords in content (check the <meta> in the HTML that was responded).

How can I do this? Listen in a local socket (ex. 8080), set the proxy in my browser and according to the requests that the browser sends to me open a socket with the server, forward the browser's request to the server and forward the server's response to the browser? (Of course by applying filters in the stages where needed.

C# :: Accessing Method Within Proxy Class But Fails To Do So

Jun 23, 2014

I have this proxy class generated from a webservice:

/// <remarks/>
[System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute("System.Xml", "4.0.30319.18408")]
[System.SerializableAttribute()]
[System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute()]
[System.ComponentModel.DesignerCategoryAttribute("code")]
[System.Xml.Serialization.XmlTypeAttribute(Namespace="java:se.atg.aisbean.calendar")]
public partial class RaceDayCalendarSimple : object, System.ComponentModel.INotifyPropertyChanged {

[Code] ....

I'm trying to access this method "RaceDaySimple[] raceDay" and display it on "WebForm1.aspx":

<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="WebForm1.aspx.cs" Inherits="WebServiceClient.WebForm1" %>
<!DOCTYPE html>

[Code] ....

So on "WebForm1.aspx.cs" I'm trying to access the method "RaceDaySimple[] raceDay" and display it inside the div "test":

test.InnerHtml = pbs.fetchRaceDayCalendarSimple().raceDay;

But I'm getting the error:

Cannot implicitly convert 'WebServiceClient.InformationServiceReference.RaceDaySimple[]' to 'String'

So how do I acces this method proparly and display the content on "WebForm1.aspx" inside the div "test"?

C++ :: Method To Loop Through Network IPs

Nov 25, 2013

This problem relates to a program i am developing to ping all hosts on a network.

So far I've managed to access a PostgreSQL database to retrieve a CIDR network address e.g. 192.168.52.14/24.

I have then managed to mask the bits to get the network address.
So for e.g. above its 192.168.52.0

I now need some kind of algorithm to loop through available hosts so from.

192.168.52.0 - 192.168.52.255

I have got as far as deriving the network and separating it into an int array

So I have : ip_start[]= {192,168,52,0}

C# :: Difference When Starting A Program From Network?

Aug 17, 2012

The following code prevents windows from letting the monitor go into sleep mode when the program is active and wakes the monitor up after a scanner scans something.

Code:
protected override void WndProc(ref Message m) {
if (m.Msg == W32.Const.WM_SYSCOMMAND &&
(m.WParam.ToInt32() & 0xfff0) == W32.Const.SC_MONITORPOWER && m.LParam.ToInt32() != -1)
{
return;

[Code] ....

When the program is started normally it works fine. But when the program is started from a network share it goes to sleep anyway and the OnScan does not work anymore. Removing the Send Message line makes On Scan work again but then the monitor wont wake up on a scan of course.

What could be the problem here when started from the network?

C# :: Mapped Network Drive - Deleting Or Moving A File

Sep 16, 2014

Currently I'm trying to do something extremely basic: delete or move a file

I have a mapped network drive (Y) where I have a file I need to move from one folder to another

First was doing the obvious:

System.IO.File.Move("Y:TempFile.txt", "Y:Temp2File.txt");

Not much to go wrong here, right? As long as I have the correct permission to write in the folders and the folders exists, this would normally go smooth. But for some reason it only copies the file. The source file still exists, but it has successfully copied the file to the destination folder. No exceptions has been thrown or anything... but the file still exists in the source directory

I then changed the code to the following:

System.IO.File.Copy("Y:TempFile.txt", "Y:Temp2File.txt");
System.IO.File.Delete("Y:TempFile.txt");
Console.WriteLine("See mommy, no Exceptions");

As expected the file copies correctly, but the delete command is completely ignored. The file is not deleted, but the Console.WriteLine command is called

I'm running the application as the logged in user. The user has permission to delete the file. If I try from Windows Explorer, the file is correctly deleted. Unfortunately my application refuses to delete the file and even worse, it will not even throw an Exception.

C++ :: Building A Typeless Container?

Jun 14, 2013

i built a programming language called jade that right now can only print. i want to add variables to it however. I am going to use a modified bajarne stroustrop calculator to handle expressions (ie will now include string manipulations and such), but I want to build a var class into the program to make it easier for the program. i want variables to act like python variabes, and arrays to act like python associative arrays. Ive scoured different containers, but they only work if the variable isnt an array in my language, because it will only have one type. the only thing i can come up with is a union and 4 overloaded = operators (for bool, int, double, and string) is there a better way to do this?

C/C++ :: Building QGIS X64 On Windows

Feb 9, 2015

Basically I want to embed the QGIS canvas widget into a custom application. In order to do that, I need to build QGIS from it's source in order to obtain the devel *.lib, *.dll, *.h, etc. files required. To that result, I am trying to build either version 2.6.* or the current nightly build ~2.7 - 2.8 64 bit version. There is very little documentation on the x64 builds. Not to mention that CMake and I are not the best of friends.

My progress so far:
- Successfully built the extremely out of date nightly build readme instructions of version 0.11 x86
- Partial success in creating CMake output to VS2010, but many required headers were not included such as gqsmapcanvas.h, (So even if I got it building I couldn't use the canvas widget in an application)
*Note I updated the external packages to x64 versions, so it is not an architecture mismatch issue.

I have also had issues with QWT looking for QWT Polar header files, but I suspect this is another issue with the missing headers as most of the errors related to files contained in the original source from GIT.

I've been working on a function that works like a pipeline of a shell but receives a directory, go over it an search for every file to send it to a filter, something like this in bash "cat dir/* | cmd_1 | cmd_2 | ... | cmd_N", The only problem i have with the code is the redirection of the pipe descriptors.

Code:

int main(int argc, char* argv[]){
char** cmd;
int Number_cmd;
cmd = &(argv[2]); /*list of cmds*/
Number_cmd = argc-2; /*number of cmds*/
}

[code]....

The code is seems to work fine except when i run it with more than one command in example ("./filter DIR wc rev") in this case it returns

wc: standard input: Bad file descriptor
wc: -: Bad file descriptor
