C/C++ :: Computing Bit Difference Between Two Arrays?
Jul 23, 2014
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
int b_diff (int, int);
[Code].....
I am trying to take two arrays H[], and V[] and call each element to compute the bit difference(Hamming distance) and return that back to the main function to be used in calculating pixel_phase and pixel_smoothing. I'm getting an error that bit_diff cannot be used as a function and I've tried renaming it but nothing seems to work.
[ int b_diff (int a, int ] is how it should actually look.int b_diff (int a, int is how it should actually look).

What is the diff between strings and arrays? Here is sample:
By String:
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
using namespace std;
int main () {
string mystr;
[Code] .....
By arrays:
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main () {
char name[256], title[256];
[Code] ....
which is preferable and can i pick characters one by one in string?

Is there a difference between vectors and Arrays? If I know arrays well and I can deal with them dynamically, do I have also to know about vectors ?

My tasks was to write a program which finds difference between two arrays (elements which are in first array but not in second and vice-versa). Program works, but something wrong is with the memory allocation for array.
My code is:
main.c Code: #include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include "header.h"
[Code]....

double compute_taxes(double gpay) {
double gross;
double td; // to hold the tax deduction
if (gross <= 1000)
td = gross * 0.5;
else if(gross < 1500)
td= gross * 0.6;
[Code] ....
Write the function double compute_npay(double gpay) that receives an employee's gross pay using the value parameter gpay, computes the net pay and returns it. the net pay is the gross pay - the tax deduction. To compute the net pay, it first calls compute_taxes() to compute the tax deduction.

How to do recursive function for the following?
RecursiveComputeRouteDistance(p1index,p2index,locations,latitudes,longitudes): recursively computes the total distance between all waypoints (route) using computeDistance function to compute the distance between two adjacent points. You need to recursively compute the distance for the base case(s) and the general case(s).
This is my computeDistance function
int computeDistance(double a1,double b1,double a2,double b2) {
const int R=6378136;
const float Pi =3.14159;
float Dist=0;
Dist= ((Pi*R)/180)* acos((cos(a1)* cos(b1)* cos(a2)* cos(b2)) + (cos(a1) *sin(b1)* cos(a2)*sin(b2)) + (sin(a1)*sin(a2)));
return Dist;
}

One of my class assignments is to create a program that receive a .txt file containing a students name and their grades as follows: John K. 99, 87, 57, 89, 90, 95 Amanda B. Jones 100, 88, 76, 99, 86, 92 etc.. The number of students is unknown until run time. You have to take those grades and average them weighing the first (4) at 10% a piece and the next (2) at 15% each and the final at 30%. Then return an output file with the students name and their letter grade A,B,C,D,F based on their computed score. In addition, on screen it needs to display the average scores for each Q1, Q2, etc. as well as the minimum and maximum for each test on the screen. I am having a hard time in assigning the scores to a variable so that they can then be computed as an average and then used to determine a letter grade. I have begun to write the code and am a bit stuck..here's what I have so far:
Code:
//
// main.c
// Final Exam
//
[Code].....
The problem I'm having now is how to go about passing the grades to the function computeGrade and then compute the average and return that to the function.

I define "Comwords" as a string, but apparently it takes the members as chars, then I can't set strings in a structure equal to the chars.
I see to also be having unknown problems with the ComMAL array and loading it values into another element of the same structure.
How to correct this? I was thinking of casting char elements as strings, but could find no reference in my library book regarding how to do that (lots on casting int's a doubles...)
Code:
int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) {
int comm = 10;
int targ = 5;
int death;
struct AI_WORDS
[Code]....

Using a for loop, construct two 100 element arrays, x and y, such that element i of x stores the value sin(2*pi*i/100)) and the corresponding element of y stores cos((2*pi*i/100)). Print the values stored in the elements of x and y as you calculate them.
I have attempted to solve it but I'm not sure why the value 0 is only being printed, maybe I haven't assigned sin(2i/100)) and cos((2i/100)) to the arrays properly?
Code:
#include<stdio.h>
#include<stdlib.h>
#include<math.h>
int main () {

Creating a C# program to prompt the user to choose the correct answer from a list of answer choices of a question and if the answer is wrong then try to prompt the same question again with do while loop but it is not working as it suppose to be.
class Program
{
static void Main(string[] args {
char UserChoice = ' ';
do {
Console.WriteLine("What is the command keyword to exit a loop in C#?");
Console.WriteLine("a.quit");
Console.WriteLine("b.continue");
[Code] ....
But if i use int instead of char in this program and replace a, b, c and d with 1, 2, 3 and 4 then this program work fine. What is wrong in this code when using char

Other than the theoretical difference between cout and cerr where the former puts values to the monitor and the latter puts values related to errors to the monitor, is there any real difference here? Why not use cout when you want to send anything to monitor? Why use cerr at all?

I just figured out that some std functions (for example: copy) need the resource and target objects have iterators to work. Otherwise, the compiler rejects. In case of two arrays, declared as:
double myA[100] = {};
array<double, 100> myB = {};
myA[0] is like a pointer, myB.begin() an iterator, if I do not make any mistake. So, what is exactly the difference between the pointer and the iterator here? They all give the access to elements.
If I need the target of copy to be an array like myA which cannot give an iterator, is there a way to make the command "copy" work for it?
